We love this stuff. We've been on a tea kick as of late and bought this as well a lower priced brand of matcha to see which ones we'd like (if any). This has to be the best tea we've ever had, bar none. It gives us a kick of energy in the morning yet we feel more relaxed throughout the day. We ended replacing our morning coffee with a single 1/2 tbs serving. Be careful though, I recommend you follow the serving suggestions. 1/2 tsp is more than enough, any more than that and you'll risk being jittery. We use a lot more water than they suggest, and end up rebrewing our tea 3 or 4 times throughout the day instead of pouring a fresh cup (it's quite potent). On that note, when compared to the cheaper brand we tried this one kicks tush. It tastes much better, and although the cheaper brand contained more matcha per dollar the serving size was 4 times more (and you really did need it for the same effect). Enjoy : ) Read more
I purchased the culinary grade of the matcha powder in August and it was OK but I decided to try the ceremonial grade. I found it to be much better - full of flavor, not at all bitter, and something very comforting to look forward to in the morning. I can no longer tolerate the caffeine load and acid of coffee and found this to be a pleasing substitute. Read more
What can I say? I'm a matcha maniac. Couldn't give up coffee for 50 years. Never could find a suitable replacement. I've tried alot of matcha...and this particular brand is worth every penny. I love looking at it!! If you don't appreciate this product - then you really don't know matcha. I drink it thick - multiple times a day..made correctly it's a life saver because I actually DRINK it. Health benefits...all over the map..but right..now..my allergies and appetite are benefitting. and thanks for the great overall Matcha information. I love me my Kenko. Read more
I really like this matcha brand over others as it mixes very well and seems to be a cleaner matcha. I'm glad I switched over from the Jade leaf Update .. I still am using and happy with the quality. I do recommend sifting to mix completely or you'll get small balls of matcha floating around.. Read more
We continue to buy this particular brand of matcha tea. We find it superior to other matcha teas that we have purchased in the past. Read more
I had an incredible struggle ditching caffeine from coffee until now! It is so much better, I feel more energized and I only take a cup a day. With coffee I kept feeling like I needed more as the day went on. I was able to switch cold turkey and did not get any headaches in fact my headache reduced. I make mine with a little agave and oat milk. Highly recommend! Read more

I wanted so badly to be able to leave a good review on this. I'm also extra upset that I foolishly purchased a large pouch of it as opposed to getting a smaller container, for the sake of money saving, since I love matcha. For reference, I purchased the ceremonial grade. This stuff is just... weird. It looks like matcha, aside from the strange clumps that seem awkward to dissolve in or out of water. It's a beautiful vibrant green color, greener than any of the matchas I've tried so far. I was very hopeful I'd found the best stuff for a good price. The taste is a little off from green tea flavor. During the sniff test against this and my current matcha, my usual go-to definitely has that invigorating smell of green tea, while the kenko stuff just smells of subtle plant matter. I searched for that tea smell, but was unable to bring myself to be sure if it was actually tea on a blind sniff. The two smell incredibly different. The taste is very weak. Having tried it hot and cold, the kenko matcha is weak in the tea flavor, even when drinking as koicha. I want to say I'd recommend this as a choice for people on a budget, or trying to hunt the best deal for your dollar, but I can't. From now on, I won't be trying to scrimp every penny when buying matcha, as kenko matcha has made it clear it's a fool's game. Read more
