I use this for work replacing a mx blue gaming keyboard. The gateron brown switches are less clicky of course, but overall provides a better typing experience. Since I use this for work I need a 10key number pad. I wanted something that wasn't full size and this board is great. Much more compact than I thought and the layout is very functional. Keycaps are good quality and easy to replace. Great keyboard for gaming or everyday use. Read more

This is my first mechanical keyboard; I bought it to use for work/office. I wanted to try something a little different than the typical office keyboards, something that has a bit more physical/tactile feel to it. The selection of mechanical keyboard brands is you can either pay $200+ and get a high quality keyboard or pay $50 for a cheap one with stupid looking fonts on the keys -- Or you can pay $80-100 for a Keychron keyboard and be very satisfied with a quality product. Granted, I haven't bought any $200+ keyboards so I can't compare directly to those, perhaps they're better than this one, but all I know is I'm very happy with this choice both as a product and the price range. They even have good customer service - I emailed them with a question and they responded with a helpful answer within 24 hours Read more

I've been daily driving the non-RGB version with Gateron Reds and liking it a lot. Pros: - 1800 layout is compact but keeps the numpad and nav keys - USB-C connector - In my experience the Bluetooth has been reliable and easy to use with multiple devices but your mileage may vary - Goes for around a week between charging - again YMMV but I have it on Bluetooth for ~9 hours a day throughout the work week - The stock Gateron Red switches are pretty smooth. For cheapo linear switches they're nice and sound good out of the box. - Hot swappable switches - No software required - Mac/Windows modes are toggled with a physical switch and all the other functions are done with key presses - Sturdy construction even without the aluminum frame option - Easy to disassemble and work on if you want to customize it Cons: - I think for the money the keycaps could be better. They are thin and laser ablated with no texture on the tops, so don't feel the best. The super thin font kinda negates the benefits of the backlight, but in an office environment that's not a huge problem. - I wish there was spacing between the main keys, arrows, and numpad. It would help with finding these keys when touch typing. - The board thickness might necessitate a wrist wrest for some Read more

I was searching around for a mechanical keyboard in hopes of something I could repair and clean if I needed to as well as a more tactile feel when typing. I also enjoy the sound and depth the keystrokes have. Compared to my old keyboard, a Razer Deathstalker, the Keychron K4 is a COMPLETE change. Even the layout took a few days to get used to again, since it's a 96%. The blue cherry key's sound and feel exquisite to me, but I've never had a mechanical keyboard before, so my virgin fingers are still in their honeymoon phase. Set up was easy. Use the tools they provide in the box to gently swap the desired keys onto your Keychron if you're using a PC or a Mac. Then follow the instructions for connecting VIA Bluetooth. If you're connecting to multiple PC's like I am, be sure to connect to your preferred PC first. I was having connection issues when trying to connect to my workstation and assigning it the second bluetooth profile instead of the first one after turning it on. So, I connected it to my PC with the first profile and it worked perfectly afterward. It's significantly smaller than my previous keyboard, as far as layout goes. It's also a lot taller, so I'm not used to lifting my hands as far to type, so if you prefer a wrist rest, you might want to invest in one if you're interested in this keyboard. I'll update my review in 6 months. 6 MONTH REVIEW: After 6 months I still dig my Keychron. Like some folks, I had a couple issues trying to find the arrow keys while keeping my eyes on the screen because of the layout. I solved it by 3D printing new arrow keys. Some minor issues I found were that when it was time for recharging, plugging it in and switching to cable connectivity would set the lighting back to default (Always on), so I would just plug it in without switching it over to Cable connection (Duh). Overall, I'm still happy with my purchase. Read more

This is my second Keychron keyboard (I have the tenkeyless blue switch version for my personal desktop). I loved that one so much that I got this one (with brown switches) for my work from home PC setup. Happy I was able to get this one with a number pad, as it's crucial for my job. And the brown switches, while equally responsive, are slightly less clicky than the blue, which is good for when I'm on a Teams meeting. All in all, excellent keyboard, highly recommended to anyone looking for a better typing experience than those Dell membrane keyboards you see in offices around the country. Read more
