I owned the K6 model for about a year before switching jobs and changing from traveling to a stationary desk, needing a 10 Key. This one fit exactly what I wanted. Wireless, Designed for Mac, with a rechargeable battery that doesn't need plugged in more than once or twice a week. The hotswappable switches and RGB profiles are great, but I really just wanted a wireless keyboard with the mac layout by default. Built quality is improved in Version 2, and it doesn't leave much to be desired. Compared to the magic keyboard, the magic keyboard is slightly easier to connect and as a result connectivity issues are rarer, but Mac OS bluetooth keyboard support has gotten much better in the last couple of updates. Magic keyboard does have better battery life, but I would imagine with the backlight turned off and sleep mode enable you can get comparable performance. Ultimately though, the magic keyboard just can't match the feel of a mechanical keyboard, and the height/angle of this board is great. I don't know if I would change out the switches in the future, but I can see myself adding some fun keycaps in the future. The K4 on it's own, with the bluetooth/usb option, mac/windows toggle, great battery life, and generally high build quality make this a great choice for any user looking to get a mechanical keyboard without breaking the bank. My first mechanical keyboard and I went with the brown switches. This was an upgrade from a logitech K750 I had shown in pictures. I did have to make a wrist rest and it actually came out nice instead of buying one. It was a bit uncomfortable without it as many people mention in online reviews since its a taller board. At first, I thought the addition of a wrist rest was not going to look good and would take up more space but I just got it anyway and it turned out nice... The K4 offers 96% of a full size keyboard in a shorter more compact frame which I liked. The longer logitech full size I was finding a bit too long and spaced out especially when I occasionally wanted to jump on a game. I tried gaming on this K4 and its much better plus writing feels more productive and I actually want to improve WPM now. Its more fun to type on with the tactile feel and response I get from it, as well as the acoustics/sound are good. All the RGB lighting effects work and are nice to have. Adds a splash of fun to it all lol. The only thing is that when I step away from it and want to turn it back on there is a few seconds lag on it. Compared to my logitech, which was always on since it had solar powered batteries, I would just need to hit the space bar and it would wake up my computer. You can change the setting on the K4 to always stay on which I imagine would fix the issue, but I have mine set to sleep when not in use to save battery and don't really mind the small lag too much. Was skeptical since ther were no reviews on here but I gave it a try and everything has checked out nicely... Read more

overall, love it. truly. have a few issues tho- first, on the RBG option, "white" is not a color you can select when cycling thru individual colors. cherry pink or ice blue are the closest you can get. which means i have to choose between having an aluminum case or having white lights. that's stupid. either offer the aluminum case with the white LEDs, or add proper white color to the RGB version. secondly, when numlock is on, the key is lit up red. that's useful in theory, but incredibly ugly and inconvenient in practice. the numpad needs to type numbers by default (otherwise why have one, keychron?) and i don't want a random red key 24/7. apparently tho, if you use windows powertoys to reassign the numlock key to scrollock, the numlock key still works but doesn't light up when activated. literally if i did not find that solution i would have returned the board because it bothered me so much. like, did they really think i wanted to have one single red light always on in the middle of my keyboard? alternatively, did they think i always wanted to press an extra button when i begin and am done with typing numbers? bad design. i shouldn't have to figure out how to trick a piece of tech to bypass bad programming decisions. i understand that numlock being off is the default state in windows, but keychron needs to understand that people only get keebs with numpads because they want to use them to type numbers, and that no keeb enthusiast wants to deal with an errant LED that's always on and messing with your color scheme/aesthetic balance. also, why is the usb port on the side? who's decision was that? why? did you just wanna be edgy and different and cool? it's obnoxious. the only place for the port is the back side. besides those baffling product decisions, though, it's a great board. if none of those above points bother you, it's a 10/10. it's very solid, feels great to type on, sounds good without mods, and looks slick. def comes down to maybe a 7/10 if the above complaints annoy you tho.
