Once you figure out how to put it on… it’s awesome!!!
January 2026 update: I’ve bought this durag three times now in total… not because they’ve worn out but because I like to have backups and keep one in my travel bag for business and one at my fiancée’s house. A coupe mod thought/tips: -I wear an XL size hat and often that’s a bit tight… so I’m shocked that anyone thinks this first is too small. If anything, I’d be slightly less surprised if some said it was too big. Tips: -make sure you store it with the Velcro straps connected when not in use. It helps make sure the Velcro doesn’t ruin the satin like finish of the overall material. -if you want more compression, in addition to lengthening or shortening how you overlap tue Velcro straps in the front and back, you can also take a bit of the material that the straps wrap over in the front (it’ll be under the straps) and tug it down a little bit so you can pull some more of the material down and then fold it over the straps for an even more snug fit. It works so well this way that I don’t wear a durag/wave cap to bed and I can have my waves set about 10-15 minutes after I brush my hair as I’m getting ready. Original review (May 2023): My guess is that some folks are giving this wave/wolfing cap negative reviews bc they don’t know how to use it. I’ll admit I’ve owned it for a few months before I took the time to figure it out. Here’s how I use it: The longer Velcro “wings” should be in back. The top of the black on black one stops the stitching on top before it comes down the front of your forehead (to avoid having that stitch line make an imprint on your skin/forehead or on the waves of really short hair). Wrap the front (shorter) Velcro wings to the back first. Then adjust the overall fit, remove any wrinkles by lightly tugging down the material here and there. Then fold up and then wrap the back Velcro “wings” (longer ones) in front of your forehead/scalp. Then make any minor adjustments as needed. It’s quite stable and you can tweak the compression by overlapping the Velcro straps a little or a lot in front. I wish I had figured this out earlier bc I love it now. I’m writing this answer bc i came here to buy another one and I noticed no one was helping folks know HOW to use the wave/wolfing cap. Any reviews based on anything but the quality of the material should be ignored imo. If the quality is an really an issue I would just stop wearing this at night and exclusively use it during tue morning/day bc it really works. Also, make sure the Velcro straps are folded up so that any exposed Velcro doesn’t scrape against the main scalp material unnecessarily. Best thing I can say is I’m buying it again! To put in my travel bag when I travel for business bc it works better than any other DuRag I’ve ever tried.l for wolfing AND waves. Read more
