Update: I'm still using the liquid version however I've been alternating with the foam version for a few days at a time to give my scalp a break. I'm still using the Kirkland brand for the foam version. I noticed some shedding and have seen new growth in place hair had not been in years. It's been a slow crawl but, it's working. January 28th will be 4 months. This product rewards consistency so keep using it. I'm satisfied so far. Original post: Minoxidil is what it is: treatment. My hair follicles have responded well to the treatment so far after 2 months. The end of december of 2025 will be 3 months. Pictures of added are from the start and where I'm at now. I thought my follicles were dead, so I tried this product to see the extent of the hairloss in order to gauge how much my hair I would need to transplant. I have been fortunate enough to find out that my follicles were just dormant. My hair loss was likely a combination of stress and 14 years of wearing a hat in the military. To reiterate, minoxidil is simply a treatment, not a cure. It rewards consistency so if you stop using it, you'll lose your hair again in about 3-6 months. The upside is that it can be used indefinitely. After 12 months most dermatologist will have you go down to applying it once a day for maintenance. It takes a couple of minutes and I usually use it after showering. I did have some of the known side effects. I did have prominent itching and irritated skin on my scalp the for about 3 weeks. I also had really red, irritated, and flaky skin on my ears for about the same amount of time. Since minoxidil isn't something that I normally used, my skin was not happy about it. After using hyaluronic acid, snail mucin, and aloe vera with lidocaine; I was able to recover. I occasionally have an itchy scalp so, moisturize and you'll be fine. I did not go through a shedding process(dread shed) as some have mentioned. However, I didn't have much hair to lose so if I did shed I didn't notice it. Some things to consider when using it: get a good shampoo and conditioner without sulfates and use products that don't have propelene glycol. It will agitate the skin more. Ironically this product has that in it so buckle up. I also use a derma roller (.5mm) carefully once a month. My final thoughts on this product is that it works great for me. I can't speak for others but what I will say is that you have to be consistent. If your hair is thinning maybe give this try. If you have smooth and shiny bald spots go see a dermatologist first. I noticed my crown started to thin about 2 years ago and didn’t want to be honest with myself that my hair was thinning. About 6 months ago my dad asked if my hair was thinning and I brushed it off that it was like that because of how I combed it that day. Then about 2 months ago my mom told me my hair was thinning. I was skeptical about trying an over the counter treatment. I’m 39 years old and am pretty healthy with no illness or medical conditions. It’s been 2 months since I’ve begun using liquid minoxidil from Kirkland’s and the hair on my crown is filling in. I’ve stayed committed to applying the product on a daily basis without missing a day. A few days ago I tipped my head down and showed my mom my crown and she was amazed at how it’s starting to fill in. She said she could barely see my scalp. So, I can truthfully say I’ve seen results. Doctors say usually around 3 months is when you can start to see results so I look forward to what this next month has in store for me. I apply it once a day and use a handheld scalp massager to rub it into my scalp. Once a week I use a derma-roller with needles at 1.25mm to let the minoxidil soak into my scalp. I have no skin irritation using the liquid and I have not noticed any other side-effects since using minoxidil. In about my 4th week — for a couple days I noticed some active shedding but they say that’s a sign of new hair growth and that the product is working. I’ve applied the liquid to my temples on my hairline and haven’t particularly noticed a difference of hair growth there, yet. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being completely bald I’m about a 2.5 so I had a lot of hair to begin with but with visible thinning on my crown that I had to do something about it. I share my experience because I know hair loss is a loss for us on many levels and maybe my review can help you to try this product and see how it works for you. Read more

My issue is more about the misleading at deceptive add. After receiving this item and reading the box it clearly shows and states that this product only works on a specific type pattern which is the top back of the scalp and clearly states it won’t work for receding hair lines but nowhere in this add does is say that or show that illustration on the box and the product is non-returnable Read more
