UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW: I ended up removing 2 stars because several settings do not allow you to adjust the temperature as indicated in the instructions. For example, the “Dehydrate” setting is pre-programmed to 100 degrees F and you cannot adjust this at all. However the manual clearly says a) the default dehydrate setting is 120 degrees, which it isn’t, and b) the temperature range is 95-175 degrees, which you can’t do because you can’t adjust the temperature. In order to dehydrate fruits and purées for snacks, I have to use the “defrost” or “keep warm” settings. This was such a disappointing discovery! I have wanted to replace my smaller air fryer with one of these combination air fryer/toaster ovens for a long time, but was always concerned about how much counter space it would take up. So when I saw the dimensions on this one looked a little more compact (it’s basically a 14” x 14” x 14” cube) I knew I’d found the right one for my little apartment kitchen. It’s got a stainless steel exterior, and comes with a baking sheet, wire rack, fryer basket, and a crumb catcher. The door opens in an up and down fashion, just like a regular oven. It also has a bunch of different settings and boy does it do its job! So far I’ve made wings using the “Wings” setting. I made a double batch; the first batch got nice and crispy in the fryer basket up top, while the second batch got baked on the bottom baking sheet. Once the first batch was done, I transferred the baked ones into the fryer basket to finish crisping up. I also used the “toast” setting to finish up one of those take and bake baguettes and it made the exterior nice and crispy while the inside stayed soft and chewy. The only caveat I want to mention is that because the exterior casing is metal, this unit gets hot when you’re using it. Be careful about having any items near the unit and be careful about touching the exterior when it’s in use. This is to be expected but I wanted to call it out. Read more
