You can't find a trash can in stores like this without it being damaged. I finally gave up looking for one in a retail store when I ran across this one. First off it was VERY well packaged. A PLUS, off the get go. The trash can is very well made. There were absolutely no dents/damage. The foot open and close mechanism works perfectly and the top of the trash can meets the bottom perfectly when closed (another issue I found while searching for one in stores). I am not too keen on the color and wished the seller offered other color choices, but I'll make do. Very easy to use, and works as it should. I like that you can just take a damp cloth and wipe off for easy cleaning. Now the price is OUCH, pricey. I actually love this trashcan so much I've bought 3 of them now. It's very stylish and pretty, and has a really nice functionality with the foot pedal and lid. It comes with it's own garbage bags but just takes standard size 8 gallon bags when you run out. Replacing the bag is easy - it's got an inner liner that you pull out, put the bag over, and then sort of push the bag in the little hole in the back to lock it in place/tighten it down, and then put the liner back to make it look clean. I ordered this 8 gallon trash can for in our breezeway for miscellaneous trash coming out of the cars. This trash can holds an 8 gallon trash bag and stands at 2 feet tall. For our family of 4 it would be too small for a kitchen trash can but for a smaller household or a secondary trash can it is a good size. The can is made of sturdy metal. The inner bucket is plastic but seems well made. The foot pedal opens the lid easily, however, to get the lid to stay open you have to jiggle the lid as there is a latch that kindof sticks preventing you from just pushing the lid straight up making it annoying to try to change the bag. Perfect next to my desk. I had a smaller trash can which was constantly in need of emptying. Now I don’t have to worry about it all the time, plus it has a lid that is always closed. I do a lot at my desk, including eating most meals, so I have food containers in the trash. Now I don’t have to look at it or smell it. It is just a better trash can. It is made very well, and I love the plastic liner. It's nice because it came with a roll of trash bags to get you started. We replaced our kitchen garbage can and went with the white 8 gallon from Veelar. Upon receiving the package, I immediately feel like I'm opening a premium product. The trash can was surrounded by 4 cushion thick pieces of cardboard. There was also a very thick Styrofoam mold on the bottom and top to secure it from moving. The box itself was also very very thick. The trash can itself is very clean looking. There is a thing at the bottom where you step on to raise the lid. The lid closes very slowly. Inside, there is a plastic bin that you can take out to add your garbage bag. I like how there is a hole to tuck in the excess bag. There is also a sample roll of garbage bags to get you started.
