Let me start by saying these knives shoukd not be underestimated... the last photo says it all, but I will tell you anyway. When these arrived I was VERY skeptical. Made in China using German steel? Never heard of that before. German knife companies making in China and not holding a edge? Yes, which is why I am still in love with my German made, German steel knives that I have had for over 25 years. Now, again, I was skeptical, up and to the point where I cut not one but two fingers and now my fingers are covered in bandaids, I am no longer skeptical. Yes, I know better, because my German knives are sharp enough that they'll take a finger if you're not careful. Again, I underestimated these knives, so the lesson here, don't be me in this scenario. These are very sharp knives. Are they going to stand the test of time? Probably better than expected and at the price point? You're not going to beat that because I spent hundreds on my German knives, again, 25+ years ago. The verdict... Would I buy these again? Yes, are you kidding me? I will likely buy several more sets for my sister-in-laws just so they have a sharp knife! Are these made of quality material? Yes, I think the proof is in the bandaid. Are these a good value for the money? Yes, are you kidding me? A few dollars vs the hundreds I spent. I think this is a no trainer here. Would I recommend these? Yes, just watch your fingers! What I Like: 1. The PRICE! Four knives for $5? Yes, please. Five bucks for three knives that actually cut is a deal. 2. I needed a basic paring knife and didn't want to spend $80. This fit the bill. The edges are sharp and these three knives haven't faltered at anything I've tried them on. No, they won't slice a tomato, but the trio handled the rest of the tasks I used them for just fine. 3. Unsure what the handles are made of but based on the weight, I'd say plastic. The good part, however, is that these knives are full tang--the blade runs in one unbroken piece from the tip of the knife to the end of the handle. Three metal rivets keep the blade in place. 4. The blade metal is stated to be German high-quality steel. They're very lightweight, but if this is true, they can be sharpened, honed, and will last a long time. We'll see how it goes, but other than the weight of the knives I'm pleased. 5. Whether cheap or expensive, I always hone a cutting knife before use. These knives make good clean cuts without undue effort, and the edges hone well. 6. They do cling to my magnetic knife block. I hand wash all my knives. Can you put these into the dishwasher? Of course, but why? Hand washing protects the blades. What I Dislike: 0. No issues, no notes. For the price of these, they're a good buy that gets better every year they last. Read more

I have to admit, I was highly skeptical of this set at first. It advertises German steel but is made in China, and at the current price of around $4, I honestly did not expect much. I was wrong. This set includes an 8 inch chef’s knife, a utility knife, and a paring knife, plus matching sheaths. All three came sharp right out of the box. Very sharp. I almost took off a finger the first time I used them, so please be careful. These are not dull, decorative knives. They mean business. The blades are stainless steel with a plain edge and they slice cleanly through vegetables, fruit, and meat. The handles feel solid and comfortable in my hand while chopping or slicing. They have a good balance and do not feel flimsy. I have washed them in the dishwasher and dried them, and so far they have held up fine. No rusting or obvious issues. For everyday kitchen tasks, they absolutely get the job done. For the price, this set is unbeatable. Sharp, sturdy, and surprisingly well made for such a low cost. If you need a basic knife set for yourself, a starter kitchen, or even as a budget friendly gift, these are definitely worth grabbing. Just respect how sharp they are. Read more
