You can use this to make dairy-free cream cheese icing. I used confectioner’s sugar and some flavor extracts to make some. It whipped up quite nicely and tasted perfect. I didn’t use it on its own so I can’t attest to that effect. But if you’re looking to use it for icing, I definitely recommend it. I would try it in baked goods or other desserts as well. It has very little flavor but that’s fine because you can always remedy that. It behaves like cream cheese and has a nice rich texture, which is an essential quality to any substitute. Read more

Perfect texture and great flavor. Cows are on the same level as dogs to me, I love them and I want to avoid things in my daily life that don’t contribute to the torture humans keep putting them through. So this is a great find! I will note though that when I buy this through Amazon it usually spoils quickly where as if I buy it at my local Vons it will last for at least a month if it’s not used up. Read more

This is my absolute favorite non-dairy cream cheese and has been for years. It doesn’t have an oily feeling or taste like other brands, it has simple ingredients and is the closest in flavor to dairy cream cheese. The only downsides are that 1) it is very expensive for cream cheese and 2) I’ve ended up throwing it out more often than not recently due to mold. Not sure if it isn’t being stored properly or if the company changed something in processing. There will be a yellow liquid on it first, then a day or two later you’ll notice a very slight discoloration on the cream cheese. It starts as light, yellow fuzz, then turns a light blue color as it gets older. It is NOT easy to notice until it gets bad. If you have bad eyes or make breakfast in a sun kitchen, I would not recommend this. It used to be rare that this happened but it’s so often now, it’s just not worth buying it any longer. The last time I got it, it ended up making me extremely sick. Such a bummer because it is so good before it spoils and I used to eat it every day. Read more

Does not taste like cream cheese. I haven’t tried it in icing yet which I might do since I have a whole tub and it costs a lot. I bought it for my son and I because we have a mild intolerance to cow dairy. He does not like this. Although he does like other cheese substitutes. Anyways, not inedible, but not cream cheese. We buy this cream cheese every week. I use it as a base for sauces, I add strawberry jelly to it to make strawberry cream cheese for bagels, and I use it as a base for dips. It has a wonderful consistency and a nice flavor. Read more
