Klein Tools IR07 Dual IR/Probe Thermometer is the best tool I have ever used and an everyday carry for me and should be part of every HVAC Technicians tool collection. Superfast, accurate readout makes taking Delta Temp’s a breeze. Both IR and Probe uses makes it very versatile in taking temperature measurements anywhere. Put the probe in a Supply, Return or Ductwork and get a reading. Use it to verify a Thermostat, use it to measure temperature in vents to high to reach. This tool gets the job done. Large easy to read and backlit readout sets it apart from the others, even the other Klein Tools temperature probes that I have used. Fastest response time to read temperature I have seen. Not sure where all the concern as far as durability is coming from on other reviews but this is by far one my favorite tools in my toolbag I work in hvac and this thing can handle everything it needs to while being more capable of giving quicker and accurate measurements then other brands.the t1 an t2 feature is super helpful and the probe is super quick compared to others I've had in the past .the laser on it is just as lethal. I have many Klein Tools. Love the quality. That’s why I paid $50 for this combination instant read probe & IR thermometer. It’s works very well. Did not need temp adjustment as it’s right on temp. We all fry stuff with oil too hot. You shouldn’t be over 400, and not under 350. If your oil is smoking, it’s too hot or wrong oil! It’s hard to know on even a good stove or grill. I guess if you have induction burners you can keep oil temp at or below 400F. Anyway most need this tool to know for sure. One nitpicking fact tho. It’s left handed! Yes if you use your right hand to measure temp either probe or IR the display will be upside down. I am VERY right handed, thus uncoordinated left, so I find that annoying. You’d think Klein engineers would have programmed a setting where you can change that readout. My Thermapen MK4 screen rotates as you move it.
