I am not entirely sure they are meant for winter, but since I usually drive rather than walk long distances, I will wear them in winter too. The chunky heel is very stable, which I really liked, and the color is not exactly burgundy as listed, but still quite close. The material is wonderfully soft, which is very important to me. I once had boots made of stiff material, and I always ended up with blisters. However, with soft boots like these, I never have that problem. I have been wearing soft material boots for 5 years now, and I am very happy with them. That is why I liked these so much, and I will definitely get another pair in a different color.
