Very nice for the money Read more
The blades felt decently sharp, but the edge doesn’t hold well over time. I’m not a fan of the colored edges as well since they wear off with sharpening and basic cutting with each use. As basic knives, these will functionally work. However, I’d definitely recommend spending more if you can on a higher quality knife set for long long-term use, but in a pinch these work well enough. I know people will spend a bunch on nice knives. Sometimes I've used these nice knives when I'm at someone's house. Personally, though, I prefer a basic, mostly functional set of knives that don't need special care. I like knives I can throw in a dishwasher and just use. They may not last as long -- especially while I'm throwing them in the dishwasher, but I'm not using them to make perfectly cut, chef quality products either. This et is excellent, and really, really reasonably priced! It's a huge assortment of knives. Steak knives and knives for pretty much every use. The handles are rubbery for good grip. I love the black blades. They look sleek and the matte finish is stylish. The finish seems solid, but it may wear with time. The blades are solidly attached tot he handles. I love the pizza knife best. The cut word label is amusing, and I know just which one to grab. The curved blade is effective for rocking back and forth to cut a pizza, which is always a challenge to cut. The weak spot of this set is the block. It looks better than I'd expect, but it's made of plastic, fairly light weight. It's like a puzzle to fit all the knives into the holder, since it's not entirely clear which knife fits into which slot. It's not necessarily a perfect fit, so the knives are a bit wiggly and the handles aren't all at the same perfect angle. But, really, I didn't get this set for the block. It holds them nicely and conveniently on the countertop without taking up a lot of space, so it does what it needs to do. I can always get another block or store the knives in another way. Overall, this is a great set of knives. It does what it needs to do and the knives themselves are sharp, functional, attractive, and very well priced. Read more

I have mixed feelings about this knife set. I really like that the knives are black! Most of my kitchen appliences are black and this is the first knife set that I have been able to find that a) had enough knives and b) was black. However, I am not a fan of the knife block - it looks very cheaply made. It's made of plastic, and the scissors and potato peelers hang off the sides, so you have to be extremely careful so that you don't bump into it and drop the scissors. Also, the slots where the knives go have a little too much wiggle room for my liking. I imagine that the knives will not stay very sharp if they are always moving and scraping against the plastic. It would have been nice if there was a diagram that shows which knives to put into which slots. Some of the knives you could clearly tell which slot they are supposed to go into, but that's only for the biggest knives. I really wanted to love this set, but it's just so-so. I won't be getting rid of my previous knife set yet. Debating on whether or not we will be keeping or using this set long term or not. Read more
I got the 20 pieces kitchen knife set. Update (2 months after received): I like the knives and prefer using them over my older set. However, the design is not practical for our set up. Our cabinets above the counter make it awkward to get the knives out because it’s not angled away from the wall. To pull out a knife, you have to pull straight up, which is annoying when there is a cabinet above them. Another confusing thing I didn’t realize when I first wrote the review, is there is a knife that is listed in the marketing information as a cheese knife. It doesn’t work well on cheese. I’m not exactly sure what kind of cheese because it’s still sharp. But has holes in the blade. I avoid that one because cutting anything besides produce makes it feel weaker than the other knives. I honestly was expecting this set to be lower quality because of the price. I was replacing a pretty low quality knife set that I think I thrifted. And it was basically unusable. I did think this would be a small upgrade though. I am impressed with the quality I’m getting with these! The are sleek and organized in their block. The edges are sharp and smooth. They feel pretty good in the hands as well. A good weight, in my opinion. The middle row of the block is a little funky with sizing at first when you’re setting it up. It’s just just pick a slot and put the knife in. There are 2 different sizes, and it makes sense after you put the pieces in. Not that big of a deal. Overall, the value for the money is there! I am thrilled with this knife set and got this for my son's first apartment. I love that the utensils are black because it makes the set look sleek, modern and not your mom's kitchen block set. I actually was very surprised at everything that came with this set at this price including the modern block holder, a knife sharpener and a curved brush to safely clean the set. However, I was at a loss for the metal thing until I looked at the box and saw that this metal gadget was a finger protector for when you are chopping close to your fingers--now I did not get a chance to try this out, but what a great way to hold the vegetable down while making sure part of your finger isn't accidentally sliced. This is by far the best comprehensive set with all the necessary knives needed for the kitchen to get my son started in the kitchen. Excellent value and a nice space-saving design Read more
