The block is plastic
I wanted this set because although it has less than my other set (my other set has scissors, a sharpener and a set of steak knives) I thought this looked classier. The knife block is lightweight cheap plastic and looks it. The knives themselves are very sharp. but they don't look great in the block. I ended up giving this to my nephew who just got his first place and kept my old set. Read more
Sharp!
Love the appearance of this set, it is colorful without being obnoxious. The knives appear to be decent quality and sharp, I have used multiple times and they have kept their sharpness so far. I've tested these on meat, fruit, vegetables, and bread. The knife block is a nice neutral blue color. It is lightweight with a metallic finish where the knives are inserted into the block. It is made of plastic and feels a bit cheap. The knives are a bit loose in the block. Knives are easy to clean. I just hand wash them in the sink and wipe dry before putting them back into the block.
