These are heavy, but the best knives that you will use in the field for elk
I had wanted this set of knives for quite some time, but was wary of the cost and weight. On a recent elk hunting trip, I got a chance to use these knives and I was very happy with them. Yes, they are heavy. They also feel comfortable in your hand with the rubber handles. Even with blood on your knife, your grip stays solid and safe. These knives retain sharpness quite well. They were so much sharper than my old hunting knife that I skinned and quartered an entire elk with the caping and skinning knife. Both were still very sharp when I was done. I did like the sharpening wand that comes with the pack even though I did not use it. I would recomend these knives to a serious hunter that would need some serious quartering knives. I did not wear these on my belt because of the weight, I did put them in a pack for conveincience and comfort. Read more
