We put two of these in our house which was built in 2003. One in the master BR, another in the other larger BR that has its own bath. They are still going strong with no maintenance. Listen... if you are building a house, get dedicated permanent bidets like these. You'll thank yourself. You'll need to alter purchased house plans to make room for the bidet fixture and you are looking at over a grand by the time you buy the fixture, vacuum breaker, faucet, vertical sprayer, and handles but it is worth every penny. I bought one of these to replace an old one that had broken. I bought it to match the adjacent Kohler toilet, which is excellent. However, the designer must have never used a bidet. The stream of water is so weak that it is useless. I installed a Koehler bidet valve and nozzle on it. The hole for the nozzle in the Koehler bidet is too small to for the old nozzle that was great to fit through. The pressure of the water stream can be controlled by the valve, just like any other faucet. But at full open, the stream should hit the ceiling, a good strong spray to rinse off any and all residue, even help dislodge some feces that didn't quite come out on the toilet. With the Kohler product you'll need to use your hand along with the weak spray to clean yourself. Not what is intended. In addition, the San Tropez model doesn't have a rim rinse for the bowl, only one beneath the faucet, which is useless. Kohler designs are aesthetically pleasing, but the bidet performance is completely unacceptable. And I paid a fortune for it! If I could rate it zero, I would. DO NOT BUY. ps., for a second residence we bought a wall mounted European style Kohler toilet with a bidet seat. The bidet seat was on the order of $1600!!
