This works really well and I’m so pleased to have found a clean burn care option! The lanolin does give it a “sheep” smell, which I don’t like. It works so well, I’m willing to put up with the smell. This stuff is AMAZING. You need to read the manual on how to use it with leaves to cure an open wound / burn. We used lettuce leaves, and the healing was unbelievable. My dog got hit by a car and got dragged, causing his leg to be fully opened up, to the bone, all the skin and tissue was scraped across the road. We took him straight to the vet, where they drugged him so badly, and wrapped the wound with the normal gauze, and put him on antibiotics. They said we would need to come back every day to change the bandages. Well, it hurt him so badly, they would need to drug him to oblivion, and he was suffering greatly, with little to no healing. Every time they removed the bandages, they removed whatever healing had started to form. We found out about this stuff and the way to use it, and started putting the ointment on the wound, with the steamed lettuce leaves, then covered it gently in gauze. It only took about 10 days for the scar to completely fill in and the leg to seal up and he was fine. The vet was talking about possibly amputating the poor dog's leg, but this stuff worked so well, it's like it never happened now. I mean from a visible bone, to complete healing in less than a month. Smell isn't great but not bad. Haven't had any major injuries to really test the product. Applied to a bruise a few nights before bed & no visible change. Applied to a small wound from being pecked/pinched by a rooster & no miracle change or speed of healing time. User error? Maybe.
