There are several features to really like about these shorts. The two front pockets, one of the cargo pockets on the leg and the single back pocket all have zippers. This zippers function well, without grabbing the fabric or sticking when trying to zip and unzip them. The Velcro closure of the other leg pocket is strong and secure. Secure enough and large enough that you can keep a wallet in either pocket and a cell phone in the other without worrying about them falling out. The fabric is thin, stretchy and breathable but not see through. If the shorts are too small, then folds of under garments will show through. The 7.5 inch inseam length is great because it’s not too short, gives good leg coverage and long enough for good sized cargo pockets, but not so long that the knees are covered when standing. We didn’t notice any significant droop in the shorts when the cargo pockets held a cell phone in one side and wallet in the other. They fit true to size. We ordered according to the size chart. Ordered a grey size large and they fit a size 38 in waist very well. They were initially a little tight in the hips, but after unzipping and zipping the front pockets and setting in them a few times, they loosened up and fit just fine. Its Spring and it already feels like summer. Suffice it to say that I have been wearing shorts for the last several weeks. I saw these and thought they would work well in my clothing rotation and I was not disappointed. There are a lot of things that I like about these shorts and a few that I don't. Likes: - The shorts are very comfortable. They fit well in the waist and are not constricting - They have zippers. It might sound funny, but when I work out or am doing activities, I want the stuff in my pockets to remain in my pockets and zippers help ensure that. - The shorts are light weight. The material feels sturdy, but the lighter weight makes them super comfortable on a hot day. - The pockets are the correct size. I can get my phone or wallet in them without any issue. - The shorts are competitively priced, and I think that they're a decent value. Dislikes: - I ordered the Sand Khaki version which appears more gray in the photos. They're actually more Khaki in person in my opinion. - I need to wear the correct underlayer or my friend down under is on display Overall, these are a nice pair of shorts that should last several seasons. It's time to start refreshing summer wardrobes and these Hiking Cargo/Golf Shorts would be a great addition. These tailored, stylish shorts are well-fabricated from 90% Polyester and 10% Elastane. They have a silky feel, an excellent fit and will dry quickly if you fall in a brook while hiking. This size M garment with 7" inseam fit my 5'1, 160 lb. son perfectly. He just plain loved them. They have front side pockets with zippers. The right front cargo pocket has a zipper and the left front cargo pocket has a hook and loop fastener. The rear right hip pocket is zippered for secure wallet placement. The zippers are excellent quality. There is also a D-ring on the right waist area. There are belt loops, but the encased, elasticized, shirred waistband makes the use of a belt optional. These shorts are so well-styled that you could pair them with a button down shirt and wear them out to dinner after hiking or golfing. They are machine washable and quick-drying.
