Great overall monitor with few caveats.

I bought this monitor a few weeks ago and I feel that it deserves a review now. So here's a few thoughts about it with pros and cons. Pros: -It's OLED. -Got it for $699. -it's 48 inches which is huge. -Back's made of metal. -Good build quality. -Matte screen. -Overclocable to 138hz. -Full speed HDMI ports. Cons: *Some pros can be considered as cons too. -The monitor is huge. -Since the back is made of metal, it is very heavy. -It does not include an stand. -Matte screen. -Does not have smart features. -Does not have hdmi ARC. -Does not support optical audio -Gui and menus look poorly designed. Overall, this OLED is amazing but has a few problems to consider besides burn in. I really like it and I would recommend it if you can get it for cheap. Read more

Mounting Dimensions

This is preliminary as I will not get the wall mount I have decided to use until mid July. However before I could really make a decision on the where and how I wanted to mount this thing ... I needed the mounting dimensions relative to the top and bottom of the monitor. The only way to get those is to purchase the monitor and physically measure them. I did that. I really wished that they had include 200mm as many mounts require a "extension arms" for anything over 200mm. Note that when you pull the back plate of the monitor there are two sets of holes. For the VESA 100mm mount you want the inside ones. This monitor only has 100mm and 300mm VESA mounts. OLED technology 'promised' us thinner, lighter monitors. My six old Visio 50 inch monitor weighed just under 20 pounds. This beasty tips the scales at nearly 35 pounds and requires two people to safely handle it. I will try to update this review in a few months ... Read more

Monitor auto dims ever few minutes for no reason

This monitor auto dims ever few minutes, even when gaming. No setting stops this auto dimming from happening. I'm not sure if this is a bug because I don't see anything in the manual that says it should be doing this auto dimming. I may return this monitor. UPDATE: I did work with customer support who told me this issue was from the OSD setting, but that was not true. No OSD setting stopped the light dimming periodically from happening. The monitor screen started to completely black out for a second or two occasionally. I did return this monitor for a refund. Read more

OLED is great.... and that is about it.

If you can get this monitor for about 800.00 you are doing okay. You will still need to spend over 100.00 for the stand, and then you will be back to about 1K when it is all done. So let me keep this simple so you can go on to the next review. The panel itself is fantastic, as it should be because it is a LG. There is metal construction and it comes shipped very well (double box). The remote is nice (and needed). Now the bad. Support is awful. Website for support is awful. No firmware updates. Speakers rattle if the volume is turned up more than 40%. The screen will go dim and even off if you are reading static text. You can disable this, but it is a OLED and I would not suggest it. Generally good but has some issues.

I like the monitor in general but there are two issues I have with it in general. 1) A small one. All of the input ports are on the side of the monitor. It makes it very easy to plug something in when I need to, like a laptop. But also makes all the cords stick out the side and I had to buy an extra long DP cable to reach from my computer on the other side of the desk (picture provided). Having an HDMI port on the side for easy access when you need it is great. Just put the rest of the ports near the middle of the monitor for easy cable routing. 2) A bit bigger issue. The image doesn't really stay the same size or in the same place on the screen. It will start up fine, but over an hour of use, the size increases until up to 15 to 20 pixels are chopped off on the sides of the screen (see provided pictures of normal with no cut off pixels and then when it moves with chopped off pixels). It also tends to move around the screen too, very slowly, so it shifts so the pixels reappear on the right side and disappear on the left side and or top and bottom. I have an Nvidia card and it lets me resize the screen (usually used for TVs and overscan issues) (pictures provided). So I just do that and it works fine. It's just a bit annoying paying so much for this monitor and having these issues. Read more

48 oled. But no stand

I love the product. However the company needs to be clear in the advertising that the stand is not included. Aside from that its a great product. Read more

Missing Remote

The panel itself is fine. Having issues with advertised refresh rate. Can only get 30 Hz. Remote was not included as advertised. I tried contacting Amazon; their only solution is to return the whole thing. Not practicable. Re-packaging and moving this monster are not going to happen over a $15 remote. No response from the manufacturer over missing remote either. This is not my first experience with Chinese manufacturers not providing what they advertise. Caution advised. Read more
