There are 3M adhesive dots included and also 4 silicone strips. They meant to be noise reducing and to prevent the box from sliding around. I wasn't thrilled that one corner had a scuff, leaving raw wood exposed but it's not visible so doesn't detract from the appearance. I think the strips are meant to go around the top but they don't fit, so I put them on the bottom and didn't use the dots. You're banging on the bar so it's not like it's going to do much for noise reduction anyway. Overall I like the look but the stainless insert slides around in the bamboo box. It's like they aren't really designed to go together. The insert seems like it's meant to be part of a steamer table and the box is not really deep enough to keep it from moving around. Best price for a wood Knock Box and quite good looking, but. Manufacturer has attempted to solve the noise issue by putting four strips of hard silicone inside the box. As soon as the insert is fully pushed in the bamboo box, which is only pinned without glue, it separates at two corners. I solved the problem by glue and clamp and some 1/2”x1/8” weather striping I had on hand. Two strips inside the box is enough. They also included some dot adhesive feet which I decided to replace with the weather striping also. Read more
