You Must Try This
How did I get along without this? Putting this together was a snap, even for me and I'm not good at assembling things. It is minimalist, looks great, although you don't really see much of it. Works great for my 17.3 laptop, steady and sturdy. Best of all, the laptop can breathe. Recently switched from an all in one to a laptop (again) and I tried an external keyboard. With this stand, the angle is perfect, and I don't need the external keyboard. Also, the screen is now higher, more in line of sight so even reading angle is improved. I'm glad that I ignored other stands with a bunch of features because in the end, I would have trashed them for something more like this. I can type quickly and there is no shaking. My laptop tends to get overheated when it's on to long now it has some airflow. It's sturdy, a good angle, doesn't slip and a good height. Read more
Does not work well for HP Envy laptop.
If you have an HP Envy 17" laptop, this riser will not work well. It needs to be about two inches higher in the back for the front of the laptop to sit properly within the front tabs. It also will block the horizontal air vent on the backside, underneath the laptop. It's a well-made, good stand, but not for this particular laptop of mine.
