Hmmm.. much different than I am used to, and my cats don’t seem to care for it. Quality is great, all features work.. it has several designs.. star, smiley face, red dot to choose from in red laser light, has a ehite pen light, and a faint blue that I think is supposed to be UV. I've owned cheap, cat laser toys before, but this one blows all the rest away! It has a number of different functions: flashlight, ultra violet beam, and the red laser images are: a star, a clown face, a butterfly and of course, the standard pencil point laser. My cats actually come up to me in the evening after their supper and meow and beg me to play "laser" with them! Although it came with no instructions, to put a battery in it, you simply pull the lanyard end and that pulls off the battery cover. It takes a bit of muscle but it does come off. This is the single BEST cat toy I have ever bought for my 2 feline-felons! You will not regret buying this one for your 4 legged house monsters! My rating is 4 full stars, minus one for no included instructions. I would suggest to the manufacturer to include detailed instructions for the battery installation, and the directions to its many different functions. Otherwise, a stellar cat toy laser! Read more

Adopted two sister kittens very playful. They absolutely love this laser! Different shapes from butterfly to star etc. give a little something different to Chase. They run like crazy after it. Loads of entertainment! We love it is rechargeable, which eliminates purchasing a lot of batteries. We always follow up play with this pointer, with some type of "physical" toy our cats can sink their claws into. The pointer is elusive and gives them the thrill of the chase, but without the payoff of feeling it captured in their paws, it can visibly frustrate them. Read more
