I am best friends with a perfume professional. Over a year and a half, I've learned a lot about fragrances. Here's the simple review you're looking for. This is a warm blue cologne that leans masculine and reminds me of a YSL cologne mixed 75/25 with a dupe. Things I care about: - Alcohol scent ------------- ZERO Alcohol scent. I was surprised. - Fake (dupey/oily) smell -- Not too much like other brands - Projection ----------------- 7/10 Projection: Like YSL colognes - Longevity ----------------- 6/10 You'll leave a sillage - Wearability ---------------- Non-agressive, daily wearable - When is it appropriate to wear? • This scent is better for warmer weather. This is not a "light" blue scent. This is a darker blue with a curve to it that makes me initially question if it is blue until the end notes reveal themselves. It seems to mix well with my skin and I imagine entering an air-conditioned building from the heat of day will leave a presence people can sense because your core temp is high. (I imagine a little bit of sweat will enhance the primal sense in this cologne and make this a signature scent). By no means is this the "most magical scent", but this "is" awesome. Not just because it's cheap, but it shoots way above its weight in pure quality (regardless of price). Because Im best friends with an enthusiast, I can detect things most can't. YSL Y EDP is far and away my favorite cologne. I treat it like a special occassion scent despite the fact that it can be work everyday in any season for every occassion, I love it its my gold standard for cologne and was the first cologne ever gifted to me. I bought this as an alternative to YSL Y hoping I could use it more sparingly for the gym and the office and on short notice when I want to smell good but not for an occassion that would warrant me to use the real thing. I read online and heard through various social media platforms that this was the go to alternative and one of the closest imitations you could purchase for YSL Y. On first spray I wasn't able to smell the depth of the scent and i admittedly smelled mostly alcohol. I waited a few weeks after my first spray and the scent admittedly improved a lot. The scent became more floral and in my opinion more feminine and sharply sweet. The notes that stick out to me the most are the Marine and Bergamont scents and the longevity is great especially for the price. Although I am disappointed, I can say the cologne is by no means bad in quality, it's just not for me. For reference my top go to scents asides from YSL Y are CDN Iconic, Afnan Supremacy, Lattafa Al Nashama, Hawas Ice, and Azarro Most Wanted EDP Intense. Read more
