I really like this skillet. Especially with the wooden handle. It's heavy as all cast iron is. You do need to make sure it has a good coating of butter to fry eggs. You let it cool down a bit before you wash it, and put hot water in it and let it sit to soak for a while. It is a bit hard to clean, I use a non-scrarch scouring pad and that's OK. It takes a bit of scrubbing. But there is no strange smell to it and food tastes great. It's worth the extra work if you don't mind it. Read more

High quality materials and I like the enameled surface. I own other Le Creuset pots which I love but this pan is poorly designed. It's extremely heavy which is fine but I don't get why they made the sides so tall and steep. To get food out you have two options: 1) Use a spatula and try to launch food out of the pan. This works okay with eggs but not so well with say, diced potatoes. 2) Pick up the very heavy pan with one hand and tilt downward while using a spatula to remove food. Problem is the handle is loose and it pivots in your grip. There is no bolt or nut to tighten. If they are going to make the pan so heavy, and the sides so steep and tall, make sure the handle can handle the weight without turning. Read more
