Great Photos for Teaching

LadyThorDecember 16, 2014

These are great cards and I use them with my English Language Learners to teach vocabulary. I love the fact that they are photographs and not drawings. They also contain the word on one side of the card and just the picture on the other. They are divided into common themes and the pics are of common places or things found in each theme. Easy to hold and pass around for smaller groups. I'd love to see a larger version as well. Read more

Good tool- not super durable.

S PerezJanuary 13, 2021

These are great for putting visuals with words. They aren’t super thick. I’m not sure I would trust a little kid to play with them alone but good teaching tool. Read more

A bit pricey, but they will last a long time.

I teach ESL online to kids in China. These flash cards were just what I needed instead of collecting so many props! Nice and sturdy and will last for a while. Read more

Good product, but just not for me.

Ashton's MommyOctober 28, 2013

I think this is a good product overall, but not exactly what I was looking for. The quality and clarity of the pictures are great. However, I have an 18 month old and some of the photos are not really geared towards him. This would be better for an older child. Some things are simple, like "apple." But there are not many other simple things there. Like there is "head", but no flash card for eyes, nose, mouth, or ears. I was looking for something like that to be in the "body parts." Instead, there are things like arm, knee, neck. Granted, the box does say it is for 5+ years old. But if you have apple, corn, chicken and the like, I would expect cards indicating the parts of a face. Overall, these are good, and I will keep them for my son to use as he gets older. For now we can use it for the shapes, colors, animals, and food categories. The others don't really apply to him at this time. But I do have an autistic cousin, and these would be great for a child who is autistic. As it shows everyday things that a school-aged child would encounter, as well as it has a section for emotions. I don't know if anyone else with an autistic child has seen it hard for them to understand emotion, but my cousin had a hard time with expressing and reading emotion from others. This would have been a great tool for him. Read more

So Helpful for My ENL Student

JJSeptember 25, 2023

I bought these cards to help one of my student to increase his understanding of certain words. The categorization of the cards has been a great connection for him. He is so thrilled with the opportunity the cards have provided. I'm so happy with this product that I bought a second set. Read more

Just O.K

CFNovember 1, 2015

These cards are okay. I like the strength and size of these cards though, they are sturdy and are very well organized in the nice and sturdy box. I saw how many categories there were and got excited, only to be disappointed when I received them. The pictures, for the most apart, are fine, there are just not enough of them to really have an impact or give you a good scope of the person's abilities with naming in that category. I was most disappointed with the emotion cards. I was going to use them with some clients who are on the autism spectrum, but the emotion pictures are not clear (I attached two examples to this review). I ended up having to make my own emotion notecards. This may be a good pack for seeing if a particular category is more difficult for a child/adult to name than others, then from there you can use other notecards in that particular area. So in summary, the cards are well made with lots of categories, but it lacks in the quantity of cards in these categories and the emotion cards are practically useless. Read more
