I read an earlier review here about when using this, that it will not completely cover the very center of your face, because more lights are needed in the very center where it folds. And that greatly concerned me before eventually buying this one after extensively researching many other brands for almost a week. And yes, I have much more time than money! Then I learned that this is a very common problem (I believe, but isn’t always posted) that most likely all of the makers (regardless of price) that sell these larger Light Therapy folding devices will have this same problem to some degree. Then it dawned on me. Would if when treating your face or other smaller parts of your body, you just don’t open it all of the way, which isn’t necessary most of the time. And bingo! The problem is completely solved. Now you get 100% coverage on your face, by just closing it just a little bit. I included several pictures to prove this. And also, when doing larger parts of your body, if you allow a space of about 4 inches from the very center, it will also give you 100% coverage. So, after weighing all of the pros and cons (and I do not trust putting one of those flexible 7-light or so devices directly onto my skin, because of the electrical current that goes through them) and after considering the many extra features, price and size, this one was a clear winner. PS. And I bought this with my own money, and no one is paying me in any way for writing this. I just wanted shoppers to know that there is an easy fix for this very common design flaw of these larger folding ones. Picture #1 - Not 100@ coverage when too close to the top center when it is fully opened. Picture #2 - !00% coverage of face by just closing it just a little. Picture #3 - Also 100% coverage when opened all of the way, but now allowing a space of about 4 inches from the center. Beware! I wanted to love this, but shadows are in the way. Look at the images from the manufactures demo videos- there is a wide shadows down the center of the models face. I have posted examples here. The nose, forehead, lips and chin fall in darkness. The most needed areas for most go untreated! The voice control works perfectly. The unit seems well constructed for the price. Easy setup. The lights seem bright, HOWEVER, there is a central flaw, SHADOWS! No lights at the very center of the device. This leaves your nose, lips, forehead and chin untreated. Only your cheeks and ears get a direct treatment. There is a five (5) inch bar of plastic at the top of the curve/arch has zero lights. The most important areas go untreated. I will post a video and images shortly and show the shadows and measuring the light readings. Using a photon/light meter is helpful in gauging how effective and direct the beams are. I have asked the seller for the JEWEL and LUMINECE ratings of this device, but they have either ignored my message or are unable to provide those numbers. I want to make sure that other buyers are aware of what they are getting and manufactures should test their devices for efficiency- Jewels and Luminecense/Light intensity is very important in ensuring that the device is providing therapeutic outcomes and not wasting the users time in a pretty light show. This is an an almost and I really wanted to love it! I strongly encourage the manufacture to reach out for feedback and improve the design.it has been 15 days since I reached out to the manufacture, but no response. First off- I spent hours on here searching for the perfect red light machine. I noticed that some of the more expensive comparable ones that have 4+ stars, are exact replicas of this product (and without the added voice command). So I decided on this one because you can’t beat the price and like I said, there were great reviews on the identical ones from other sellers. Yes, there is a section on the fold that doesn’t have bulbs, but this is clearly shown in all the photos- and I don’t see an issue with this as my entire face gets the light exposure anyway. The voice command feature is awesome & extremely convenient. I personally never use the remote it came with because I enjoy the voice feature so much. There’s no absurdly loud beep at the end of your session like many others I read about during my search. It felt very risky purchasing an item with so few reviews, but I took the chance and I’m glad I did! I rarely write reviews, but I did this in hopes that it can help someone else who’s contemplating the same. Read more
