I see the light. I live in Oregon and I can be a little stubborn at times so when Oregon told us we can’t use fluorescent tubes anymore I was a little pissed. I guess I just don’t like being told what I can and cannot have. I have a 40 x 64‘ shop with three high bay fluorescent fixtures. 6 bulb 6500k 4 foot T5 54 watts each tube which equals 324 watts per fixture. I really like them by the way. They do a great job. I had a ballast go out so I had a decision to make. Do I spend $45 on a new ballast plus another 50 to replace the tubes or give this high Bay LED fixture a try for $100. I didn’t think it would be as bright as my existing T5 bulbs, but wow. My old fixtures put out 30,000 lumens and use 324 watts. The new ones are the 300 watt fixtures and they put out 45,000 lumens. A little less power consumption but my shop is as bright as a grocery store now. The new fixtures are shorter, narrower and lighter but put out a lot more light. I’m sold on these high Bay LED light fixtures. You probably don’t want to look directly at them because they will hurt your eyes. However, you can actually put a dimmer on these. My other two old light fixtures are still working, but I’m going to replace them as well. Easy to hang, easy to wire, brighter and a lot less expensive than high bay fluorescent fixtures.
