This is a winter holiday tradition in my family. Every year it does not disappoint. The whimsical small LEGO sets that LEGO chooses for each day is always wonderful. This is a great way to get through the Day 1 – to the day 24 of the month of December. If you have LEGO lovers in your household or are looking for a gift for those in your sphere, these will not disappoint. TIP: buy early, they do tend to sell out and if you buy early you usually can get these at a manageable price tag. - Sturdiness is not really relevant to this since each day is an individual mini-set. This is the second year in a row that I purchased a Lego Advent Calendar. I'm not always interested in the chocolate ones, and my son is obsessed with Lego's and the one we purchased last year was such a hit! I had no idea they had multiple versions of Lego Advent Calendars so I was very pleased to find this one. It's a great combination of items to build as well as lego mini-figures and my son looks forward to opening it up each morning. I'd call that a mom win! Great buy, I think we paid around $35. Very cute. We’ve taken apart and put back together many times. I just wish Lego would use resealable bags for all their stuff, less plastic. I had some small cellophane bags that we used to package each up which are resealable so we can keep playing with them. Otherwise having to sort through them all each time would be a bummer. Loved that it came with spares of many of the unique pieces. Would highly recommend. Read more

So most of this has some really great builds. Some of them frankly was confusing until I found a Lego fan site that told what each day was. There are some mini builds. Honestly, I would rather have some regular size accessories then trying to figure out that what looked like a coffee stand was a mini hospital which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. the mini figures were great plus there were extra pieces which are always a plus. I bought a lego advent calendar for my 6 year old granddaughter last year for part of her birthday present and she loved it! Her brother really wanted to do it too but he was only 2 at the time. This year I bought for both of them and bought one for my great nephew. It’s a new surprise everyday and not difficult to put together. A big hit in our family! Read more

My son is living this. He enjoys the mini Lego projects. The only issue is the instructions are on the flap from opening the little windows to get the day’s Legos out. It would be helpful if they were perforated all around because it’s easier for him when we rip the whole square off so he can follow the directions and it’s hard to keep the rest of the calendar in tact when we rip the piece off. .
