My kids think this is a very exciting set. It has a holding cell for evildoers, and it actually comes with a criminal, and a getaway car! Inside the trailer there are computer screens, a coffee pot and mugs, a tool rack, really, this set has it all. Very fun for playing. The price is right -- we got it here at amazon for fortybucks. It is difficult to single out one LEGO set from the rest because the manufactured quality, effort, imagination and creativity are recognized in every single set, with no difference. In my opinion you cannot make a mistake, whichever you choose. I started bying LEGO sets long time ago and still, after all these years, I see that they preserved all the trademarks of their products and plus added some improvements over time. A job well done! I bought this for my seven year old son to play with while we stayed with relatives. He worked really hard every spare minute and put it together perfectly. The directions are TERRIFIC! He played with it like that for about a day before the "modifications" began. it is now some sort of 4 wheeled police boat. These toys are Great for the imagination, and they give confidence and a sense of accomplishment. I would highly recommend it. Read more

Very cool when finished. Would not recommend this for a younger kid though. Say less then 7. The walls are easy broken. Make sure all the pieces are there especially the rear Jail area. We had 4 missing pieces. The main door for the holding area. The gray window frame with the bars and two of the smooth blue longer rails on top the semi that hold the walls together. If you contact lego right away they probably will help you but don't delay. Once together be careful. If you try to move the trailer with the semi it falls off and apart. I guess its like a real mobile police station. ;) Read more

I continue to be amazed at how Lego has evolved since I was young. PROS: The detail on this unit is consistent with Lego's style - down to the officer's quaint black & clear coffee machine in the truck. It delivers on hours of fun play. There's a jail in the back for the perps, the truck opens from the top and the bottom, there's a wealth of detail on the unit(!), and it comes with the police motorcycle & bad guy getaway car already included (which is a great 'jumpstart' for imaginative play). CONS: My biggest critique on this one is that the hitch isn't particularly secure. The trailer continually becomes unhooked from the truck's cabin. It's relatively random so it's not from turning too quickly, or playing rough, etc. It's just not a SECURE hinge!!!! This ruins the experience because i'll fix it 5 times in 15 minutes, only to watch it come out again a second later. Other cons -- It was missing one of the pieces which always makes it a challenge because i have to rummage through old sets to find the exact piece/color/size needed to complete the construction. We also had some trouble with the bars on the jail window. One window is securely inserted. The other window doesn't securely fit inside the window pane so he just uses it permanently as the 'escape route' for the prisoner. since one window is secure & the other isn't, i'm uncertain if this is by design or just a flaw. Random pieces rattle around in the officer's equipment area because they're tough to secure. The instructions have you add them after it's pretty much built but i'd add them earlier in the process to make it easier to secure them (ex- the white barricade bar). Overall, it's a nice set. I paid $34 which, in my opinion, is a fair price for this toy. I'll likely have to play with it to figure out a way to secure the trailer/truck cabin a lot better so that it can still TURN but yet not fall apart every single second of the day. Hope that helps!! :-) Read more

We paid about forty bucks for this set which is what I would consider a good deal. This is what a Lego set should be. Sturdy when built. Lots of functionality when playing with it. And goes great with other sets. Keep an eye on the price. These have gotten way too pricey for what you get. A good rule of thumb for a reasonably priced Lego set is ten to fifteen cents per Lego piece unless there a lot of really specialized pieces like minifigures, dinosaurs, etc. Read more
