My son is 7, and even though this set is rated 9+, he enjoyed it a lot more than the smaller Ninjago arena. It’s a bigger, more impressive build and feels much more “grand” once completed. It took longer to build and we worked on it slowly over a few days, with some help from me, but that actually made it more engaging. I bought it when it was on sale, which made it feel like a better value. Once finished, he was much more excited to play with this set compared to the smaller Arena. One thing to note is that the top section is supported by just two columns, so it can feel a bit unstable and easy to knock over during play.
