This is the second set I bought. I previously bought the Caterpillar D11 dozer set from Lego. I enjoyed building that so much that I just had to buy the Volvo articulated truck! My wife and I built it together and really spent some quality time enjoying the activity. It really helps develop mechanical understanding of machinery at a much younger age! It was a fun build and looks cool with my other construction themed Legos. The first set I received, the box was so damaged that I was concerned parts were missing. Amazon sent me a replacement and it was a little better. Amazon should put it inside another box. I like to keep the boxes and sometimes it's a gift. Read more

Purchased and assembled the truck without much issue. Everything looks and works fine except the the angular motor that controls the steering of the truck. Upon connecting with control app, the motor steers the direction to left and stuck there. It does not seem to respond to further steering inputs. The direction can be changed by hand with twisting motion between truck cab and body, so I don’t think the assembly is the issue. I have sent a service request to Lego for resolution of the issue. The issue is fixed after firmware update and a follow-on recalibration, suggested by Lego customer support. Good toy and excellent support. Change to 5 stars. Read more

Really liked the build overall and it's a great addition to the Liebert excavator. Another well designed kit from Lego. The motorized selectable gearbox is so damn cool. However the box showed up super damaged had extra parts taped to the side of it. I received an extra motor and control kit and an extra set of the bag 4 parts. Pretty strange but hey I'm not complaining, I can use those parts for other projects. Read more

I have to say once again (and again and again) Lego instruction manuals S$^K. They are vague and hard to se. Identifying pieces and counting holes is near impossible at time. This truck was particularly difficult and Bag 1 assembly had to be taken apart twice to get correct operation. However, once assembled and test it works like a champ. Makes a great companion to my LEGO Technic Liebherr R 9800 Excavator 42100 which by the way if more complex an d went together like a real champ. I recommend it but with caution Read more

It received a 1 star for easy to assemble, but isn’t that the whole point of the purchase is to work hard to assemble?? Anyways, my son and his dad put it together over the course of a week, and it’s pretty fun to play with. LEGO does need to make more Technic kits though, I think they’ve built all the big ones now.
