I bought 2 of these - to automate and voice control the lighting in my bedroom. These were my first additions to Apple HomeKit. A couple months ago, I had set up HomeKit, so when these dimmers arrived, I was ready to go. After reading the instructions twice, it really was plug and play - except for 1 thing. Plugged the lamp into the switch . Scanned the code on the switch - it took less than 2 seconds for my phone to recognize it. Plugged the switch into the wall and pressed the on button - the lamp lit up. Then I pressed “continue” on the phone. The switch was blinking amber - for less than 30 seconds - then the phone fully recognized it and went on to the naming and set up options. It worked, Siri could turn the lamp on and off and adjust the dimmer - also, using HomeKit, I set the lamp to turn on at Sunset. Everything worked like magic. The only negative I encountered was one of the switches was not “new”. It was unsealed and had been handled. I had purchased and paid for new - not open box. That switch also would not connect to my network - after 3 tries, I did a Factory Reset on it - then it worked just like the new one. Hopefully, it wasn’t returned because it would not stay connected to the network or some other problem like that. So far, it hasn’t given me any problem . . . . so far. I have not downloaded the Legrand app because it is doing the things I want just using HomeKit. Except for that “open box” thing, a great experience. I will buy a couple more and some of their wall switches. Read more

Very fickle during configuration and regular use. Paired right away out off the box, then disconnected, and wouldn't pair again after factory reset. After finally managing to connect it again (many factory resets & removals from Home app) realized that it always loses connection & then sometimes reconnects unexpectedly. A consistent way to have it reconnect in the Home app was to configure it via Google ecosystem & use that to manage first (turn on or off), and then Home would see it again. It was always reachable through Google, so wireless connectivity was not an issue. Dimmer function is a gimmick & didn't work for me even using buttons on the device (it would stay at full brightness until the very end of the the, then turn off very rapidly with almost no transition). Returned it after a couple of days off frustration. Read more

"Siri, turn the lamp to 15%", responds within 2 seconds. It is wonderful to change the brightness of the lamp from across the room. The device worked right out of the box, I've had it over 2 months, I use it literally every day to dim the lamps, never had one single issue. I highly recommend this product... the price is reasonable too. Read more

I was able to use this for dinner setting. I was able to set a wide range of dim levels using Apple Home. However, there are several problems. It does not work properly with a light load. It is hard to plug and unplug a standard NEMA 5-15 plug; which is not so bad if you want to consider it part of the thing plugged in. Instructions are inadequate for one not familiar with HomeKit. It will drop connections quickly at even a 25ft and one internal wall. Read more

These did exactly what I needed them to. I could get power to where I wanted my 3-way switches, but didn't want to have to run wires between all the switches to make it true 3-way, so this was great. Works exactly as advertised, I'm very happy with them. PS: Important note! I had some frustration when setting up the remote switches. This frustration was solved when I realized the folded-up piece of paper included in the box alongside the manual was not some random regulatory documentation, but an addendum to the user manual! Make sure you not only don't throw this away, but use it to do the setup! The process included in the manual DOES NOT WORK! Read more

I have 8 of these Legrand switches. Getting them installed and paired was no problem. Afterward they would become un-responsive and disconnect from the network. When I mean unresponsive, I mean they will not receive input from the paddle switch. If the light is on, it cannot be turned off, if it is off it cannot be turned on. The only remedy is to cut power to the circuit, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on. I have these installed on an AirBnb rental, which is 3 hours away. But wait, that's not all. I recently swapped out my Wifi router. I have the same Wifi SSID and password as before, but the switches will not connect to the network. I removed them all from HomeKit, and factory reset the switches, but they will no longer pair with the system. Legrand technical support is non-existent, meaning you will not speak to a person that knows anything. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. In my case, I will have to replace all of these switches with another brand. I do have other branded switches that I was able to get working again, just not Legrand. My recomendation: DO NOT BUY. It is probably just me because I know how to wire and look up code for wire and conduit sizes, install breakers and GFI. But I didn't know about slave switches. I bought this and now it is after 30 days since I let it sit. So I can't return it. There should be prominent notice that this device can't actually control a lighting circuit. It does not have switch contracts. It can only pair with a master switch of the same brand to be a second switch for a circuit without a traveler. So if you have a master of this brand and want to install a second switch, 5 stars. But why make it a deal? Lots of ameture electricians buy here Read more
