This drain hair catcher is just okay. On the plus side, it fits well over my drain, which I also have a tub shroom in. It’s very sturdy and easy to clean. It is rust and mildew resistant. I’ve had it for >1 year, and it still looks new. It’s also the most aesthetically pleasing drain catcher I’ve ever seen. However, the suction and seal are both weak, so it is not great at catching hair and preventing it from going down the drain. I estimate that it lets about 50% of the hair go past it. As I said, I also have a tub shroom in my tub drain. If this drain hair catcher was doing its job well, I would practically never have to clean out the tub shroom because nothing would get past this drain catcher to reach the tub shroom. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. I have to empty and clean out the tub shroom every month or so, because it’s completely full of hair, soap scum, shaving cream, etc., so the water starts backing up in my tub. So, it’s safe to say this product doesn’t work that well. Also, the metal on top makes it very heavy. When I’ve taken it out of the tub to dry between showers, I’ve accidentally dropped it a few times and it made a loud thud on my tile floor. Thankfully, it didn’t crack or scratch the floor. However, I imagine it could if you dropped it from high enough or it fell with enough force. Read more
