Beautiful, consider a dimmer if you haveultiple bulbs that aren't too high up. Read more

Look great on new chandelier. VERY bright so definitely had to put a dimmer on the switch. Read more

Two reviews in one ! I picked up both the 3000 K and 2700 K amber version of this bulb and both are very nice but the amber 2700 K is my preference. I have a simple color meter and it’s reading lower color temps on both bulbs but much lower on the 2700 K amber version. To me and my meter, the 2700 bulb is actually close to a dimmed incandescent, amazing, but brighter, but lower K than expected, but FABULOUS. Love it ! In terms of K’numbers, I’m not saying because my numbers are so much lower that I question my meters calibration. I have included photos; one shows the 3000 K vs 2700 K in matched fixtures, same time, same circuit, same dimmer level and looks very representative to what my eyes see. Big difference. If you want the ambience of a dimmed incandescent, the amber coating does it. The clear 3000 K is MUCH whiter and also brighter if that’s an issue. Packaging is excellent. Each bulb is bubble wrapped and tightly fit to an individual mini-box, then multi packed. They have the “ting” of glass rather than plastic so clarity is top notch. Maybe glass is easier to use ? Since LED’s produce so little heat these days I’m not sure why everything is not stabilized polycarbonate but that’s not important here. Technologically, these types of LED filament bulbs are quite amazing. Not unique to this bulb, but amazing nevertheless. These appear to be based on a string of 4x 24 LED COG design. Yes, mumbo jumbo but if you look closely (photos) you can see the individual 24 emitters on each band. To your eye they are just glowing wires in use (unless you dim them and take the time to explore). Take 5 seconds and look at how close we have gotten to 100 year tech at 1/10 the power consumption ! The manufacturers photos show a double-X filament design. Mine are simple parallel threads, FYI to lighting designers. Power rating is as advertised on my meter and the threads fit all the sockets I have tried. Dimming is fine on a modern dimmer but some old dimmers may not be compatible (same with most LED’s). My older electronic Lutron’s work fine, my older electronic Levitons get flickery at the top end, a simple 3 wire Leviton touch dimmer goes disco at any level. Read more
