I love smart plugs and this one has some pros and cons. Pros are it works well with Alexa and I can turn on and off different lights within my house or program them on a timer. Worked well for my Christmas tree and mantle lights. Another pro is that it comes as a two pack at a reasonable price point. The biggest con is that it requires a separate proprietary app. I hate having to keep track of all the different apps for various smart devices in my home and they just take up and waste space on my phone. I have some apps on my phone that I can’t even remember what smart device they are associated with. Read more

The timer is had on my plant lights have out so these have come in handy as a replacement that I can set and change right from my phone. I also have my lamp plugged into it one of them as well. It let's me ensure I'll be coming home to a well lit house when it's after dark. Read more
They do what they're supposed to and they connected to the app easily. The app works well and looks good and it looks like you can download community driven light displays, which is really cool if you have lights. However, I can't connect these plugs to Alexa. I've tried adding and removing them from the app, changing wifi networks, and re-linked the apps multiple times, but no luck. Luckily, the app has a schedule, so I just have these turning on and off at specific times. I'm still upset that I have to use yet another app to work with the smart devices in my home and it would have been really nice to just be able to ask Alexa to control the devices. Read more
I've had home automation setup in my house for over 20 years and have gone through multiple technologies ranging from X10 to Insteon to currently wifi based devices. Almost all of the current wifi based automation modules are based on Tuya which then licenses and sells their IoT software/firmware platform to other to implement and extend. Originally, most of the hardware manufacturers didn't create their own backend service and app so they relied on Tuya Smart or Smart Life apps to control their devices and those apps have Alexa skills that are well established and tested. More recently many vendors feel the need to own their own app and backend even though the controls and features are not extended at all. As a result many newer brands are now locking support of their hardware to their own backend and not supporting alternate services. I'm not a fan of this practice because without fail these new vendors are not good at maintaining or running their backend service and app and some go out of business quickly and you end up with a brick that can't be controlled anymore. This is the case for this item. Basic controls work fine but must use their app which is has been around for less than 1 year vs Smart LIfe (owned by Tuya) which has been around for about 10 years now. The end result is non-functional Alexa integration/skill as we have in this case. Plus, now I have to install yet another app just to control 2 modules rather than join these two modules into my existing account on SmartLife of 30+ devices. Read more
I've gotten other smart outlets before but wasn't able to use them because I don't have a mesh system or other type of smart controller. This one uses it's own app and it was really easy to set up. It also didn't ask for a lot of permissions to use. The timer function works very well and I used one to control the lights for my exotic birds and was able to eliminate a noisy dial type timer. I also have a very high shelf that runs around three sides of my kitchen I have a few lighted sculptures and LED type neons spaced around the room. The shelf is quite shallow so there isn't really room for the old style timers. I did have a remote control plug but I had to turn it on and off. Now the lights come on in the evening and turn off a few hours later. I also notice it doesn't require me to be home with my phone for them to function. These are very cool especially at this price point. Read more
This set of smart plugs is a good value for the money. My only complaint is that they don’t work with Apple Home, but that wasn’t lister either. Read more
I got these to control Christmas lights using the schedule function in the app. I set the on and off times for both outlets for every day of the week at the same times. They turned on and off only one time. The schedule function only seems to work just once, then they stay off. In the app, there are two places to set up the schedule and the procedure is exactly the same for both. So I tried to set the schedule again using the other method… and again, it worked on day one. But it no longer observed the schedule passed the first day. I’ve looked everywhere in the app and I can’t find anything that would prevent the schedule from working. Read more
