I bought these jeans to give them a test. I have been a fiercely loyal banana republic jean wearer for years now. But the 511s are so nice that I've changed my allegiance. Pros: 1. The fit is perfect. 511s fit like a glove. They're definitely a slim fit, so expect that. If you're a gym rat and do a lot of squats be prepared for a tighter fit. 2. The color is great. They're a nice dark grey. You can dress up a little, or go super casual and they look like they were made for either occasion. 3. The price vs. BR just can't be beat 4. The quality is great. I read the review so I bought 2 pairs of 31x30 and 3 pairs of 32x30. I am 5'7, 167 lbs muscular build, that makes it's hard for me to wear slim fit jeans because my thighs are big compare to my waist. The 32x30 pairs fit me perfectly at the waist and thighs. The 31x30 pairs are too tight at the thighs and slightly tighter at the waist (usually I wear 31x30 jeans, the waist is a bit more loose but these are really tight). The crotch of these jeans fit perfectly to me, not too long, not too short. The length of these jeans are true to size. About the material, it's not really jeans but some what mix between Chinos, Khaki and Coated jeans so if you are looking for a material like authentic levi's jeans this one may not be for you (I don't really care about the material). Also, those jeans are not stretchy at all so don't count on that when choosing the size. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. You just need to be careful when choosing the size. I recommend to buy at least 1 size up (2 size up if you have muscular build). Read more
I absolutely love these jeans as they are a comfortable, slightly stretchy fit and contour better than any others I've tried. When you're 6'5" and weigh 187 lbs, finding clothes that fit is often a little tricky. I didn't want skinny jeans, but hate overly baggy fit also, so these are a perfect middle-ground. It also helps that Levi's makes these in a 36" length for the long legged people like me. The color wash is holding up well and the workmanship on this pair is solid. After wearing and washing them a couple of times, I ordered 3 more pairs in different colors. Considering the other reviews that people are getting very inconsistent fits with these, I am anxiously awaiting the delivery so I can compare as well. Read more
A few months ago, I bought a pair of 511 Slim Fit Line 8 Pants in grey and loved them. They fit well, looked great, and went well with the rest of my clothing. After a while, I decided to pick up a tan pair of the same pants and so got the 511 Slim Fit Line 8 Twill Pants in Sand. When I tried them on they were pretty tight, so I wore them for a while to try to loosen them up. At the moment, the pants look good - slimmer around the knees and thighs, but a little looser around the ankles and butt. However, these fit smaller than my other pair so when I take them off I often have to peel them off my calves (the only really tight area). Also, the crotch is a little too high compared to where the waist is, so I either have to wear them low or risk crushing the family jewels. Because of the sizing, I might give this pair away. The fabric itself is soft twill, and is very comfortable to wear. It does have a bad tendency to pick up lint and little bits of debris, but those are easy enough to clear off with a lint roller. I have two pairs of 511 jeans that fit perfectly and thought perhaps I should try a pair of 511 pants and see how they fit. Boy, these are great! I like the dark grey color because I can wear it in almost any occasion, casual or semi-formal. Although the fabric feels thick, it feels extremely comfortable once I put them on. It also stretches a bit, which is kind of cool. So when I bend, the garment doesn't fight with me but goes with me. Best of all, the pants look like part of me. Even though it says 'jean', they are not, meaning denim. The bad news is that I will have to look after bank account more often from now on; otherwise, I may end up hoarding these! Read more
I love the feel and material of these jeans. But the sizing is a problem. They run a bit small. They are slim fit and I usually wear slim 32, but the 32 for there we're uncomfortable tight in the man area down there. Maybe it's a preference thing and I'm not committed to the skinny look enough, but I'll go with comfort down there this time. Read more
Best jeans I've ever had. Not only do I love the 511, but the Line 8 brings it to the next level. They fit really well around my waist and taper to a snug fit down my thighs and around my calves. What set these apart from other jeans, though, is their elasticity. They're not too stretchy but they do have some give while keeping their slim appearance. This is my second pair and I haven't been disappointed. Though I would recommend dry-cleaning them as I didn't want to take the chance and see what would happen if I washed them myself.
