You do need to measure your body as Levi is tried and true to its sizing. I was lucky enough to own a pair of Levi’s high waist jeans to know my sizing. They don’t waiver and are accurate with all of their sizing. These Jean shorts are adorable! They fit comfortably and perfect, help with flattening and flattering the stomach with the high waist. They’re also flattering on the back. If you’re able to measure they really are the PERFECT brand and will become your favorite go to! Levi’s are hands down my favorite jeans brand for 3 decades now and will always be my go to. They’re going to be so flattering. I feel like "cute/flattering but uncomfortable" is the tagline I could use for pretty much every pair of Levi's I've tried, minus the stretchier styles. To start, I got these in both a SIZE 32 and 33 in the color LUXOR HEAT. I'm anywhere between a size 8-12 with a 31" waist and 43" hips, give or take, but I always feel like I have to size up in Levi's. True to form, I would not have liked my true size 30 or 31 in these, so I'm glad I went up. I ended up keeping the size 32 (pictured), as the 33s were way too baggy. I could probably have done a 31 but I like having a little extra room for my thick thighs and big butt. Keep in mind these do have the button fly, like all the 501 styles do. I personally hate button flys, but I wanted to give them a shot anyway. These shorts are adorable on - I feel really cute when I wear them and my butt looks great. However, they are pretty uncomfortable. This jean material is what I'd consider a classic, sturdy fabric with almost zero stretch, though I will say the Levi's Premium fabric is softer than the Original. These do not conform to your curves much, though I'm sure wear will eventually soften the denim (or you can search for tricks to soften them, like I eventually did). If I'm walking around or standing, I don't really have complaints, but I would probably not wear these in a situation where I'll be sitting very much. On that note, if you have thicker thighs, these shorts feel like they're going to cut them off when you're sitting. I was a soccer player for a long time so have always had larger thighs, and this is one of the reasons I've never loved wearing short-shorts, because they cut into my thighs. The edge of the fabric just digs in while you're sitting, even with these cut off styles. I'd recommend these to someone who likes a stiffer denim and/or has skinny thighs, or someone who just doesn't care, but I find myself super self-conscious sitting in these, so I don't reach for them much. I kept them because there are situations I'd still wear them, plus I just needed shorts. I much prefer my Levi's Premium 501 Mid Thigh Shorts in the same size. Read more
