I am using using the portable standing desk as we speak to write this review. Like so many people I work out of multiple locations (including coffee shops and kitchen tables). I am on my laptop a ton and hate sitting for extended periods of time. Have a good standing desk at home but have never found a truly portable solution, until now. The Levit8 is the perfect solution for me. It is very light, incredibly sturdy and folds completely flat. You can easily take it anywhere. Very impressed with how stable the work station. I am 6'1" and I chose the XL (16 inches) and it is perfect for me. A few responses to some other comments/reviews I have seen: - initial assembly was easy and intuitive. Have seen a few comments that people "couldn't figure it out." Well it took me about 10 seconds and believe me I am no mechanical genius over here. - it is ideal for a laptop. Even though the standing desk is very sturdy, I find it most sturdy to rotate it (see pic). However it is not really suited as a monitor stand and if you use a mouse this is probably not for you. - finally, be prepared to make some new friends when you use it. Literally dozens of people have commented or asked me about the desk when I use it! - Read more

This review is for the size small in periwinkle. I'm going to use this on an airplane (exit row) for an International Flight but with the height I think it's also suitable for a regular Economy row. It is sturdy enough for my feet and actually quite comfortable with the natural dip inside. Also, it is very portable and lightweight. The instructions provided are quite vague and the video is too fast to fully grasp the concept of twisting. I was able to easily assemble it with the help of comments from another reviewer and now it's a breeze. The product is sturdy - some of the inner fabric layer is bubbling slightly but the aesthetics aren't my main purpose of buying. Also the color is much less harsh in person, a softer charcoal & purple than in the picture, closer to what they feature in the video. Read more

This was great as I often have to work from a conference room, away from my standing desk, at work. I use my standing desk all day- don't even have an office chair, so I really needed something that was portable and temporary, easy to tear down and stow away without taking up much space in the shared conference room. I got the small size, which was great for my 5'3" stature and 15" Macbook. Once you get the hang of opening it, it's pretty easy. I'd say it requires more of a push with the left hand than "twist" on the final step for opening. Now I just open it to show off to my coworkers. :) The sturdiness is not the same as a solid platform, but it's fine for a couple of hours of basic typing or internet use. I do wish they could add a platform in the center just to keep my laptop from slipping into the opening, but that only happened once. For the cost, it's great if you just want to try standing at work for a bit, and it's great option to make any table a standing desk. If you want something for all day-every day standing, I'd recommend a real standing desk, or get a platform option that sits on top of a table for better sturdiness and space for a mouse and keyboard. Once opened properly, it is sturdy. And when folded up, it's quite flat and fits nicely in a backpack. But it is VERY HARD TO FIGURE OUT how to open it. Once you get the hang of it, it's fine, but the instructions are TERRIBLE. I strongly encourage the manufacturers to provide better instructions and a video that goes through the steps in slow motion. When you have so many people complaining, you have an option. There also needs to be a size in between the small and the large. Read more

Having used this for a few weeks I absolutely love it. When a long day of coding has my bottom sore I can go from sitting to standing in just a few seconds. So far the Levir8 is holding up nicely and that even includes a few rounds with my 2 year old. I'm 5' 10" and went with the large. It puts the laptop right where I want it and also fits in my laptop bag but only barely. It did take about 15 minutes to figure out how to fold it the first time but just keep re-watching the vides and you will eventually get it. It only takes a few seconds once you've got it. This is not a substitute for a true standing desk though, just because when the keyboard is the right height the monitor is too low. Until someone invents a laptop with a raising and lowering monitor this is the best you will get though. If you are on the road or need to stand occasionally this is the product for you. Read more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I believe this product is truly underrated. Once you get used to setting it up, it’s truly versatile. You can put it on a desk so you can stand and use your laptop. Use it as a book holder or storage for tiny items. It’s durable, easy to clean, and light enough to carry in your hand or a bag that can support the dimensions. Read more

OK, I'm glad I bought the XL version as I'm 5'10"--as the other post says, buy the biggest one if you're close to this height. At any rate, this fold-able standup desk is great. I'm in healthcare, and I like to switch up sitting and standing, and this is a much cheaper, transportable version. I am even buying a large size (one size smaller) and a hard mouse pad to put next to and just below this one so I can use a mouse too. It will be a great ergonomic improvement for my long days. Quality seems good, and with some practice, it's not too hard to open and close. Watch the second method on setting it up in the 2 videos advertising this listing. Read more
