I wish I knew this existed years ago. Our landscape lighting system was always controlled by an old digital programmable switch in the basement. The seasonal dusk time forced me to edit the program monthly. This was the perfect solution! I recently reviewed the Leviton smart plug, and everything I noted there also applies to the Leviton smart switch: it’s very easy to set up, has intuitive on/off scheduling, provides an accurate sunset/sunrise function for a given location, and comes with a well-designed app. Installation is standard and no different from other smart switch brands. However, I rated the switch one star lower than the plug due to a small but, for me, annoying design flaw. Unlike other smart switches (such as Kasa or Lutron), this one does not indicate whether it is on or off. For lights in the same room, that’s not an issue—but for landscape lighting or fixtures not visible from the switch’s location, it becomes inconvenient. An indicator light on the switch, or a clearly defined on/off position, would make it much more user-friendly. Because of the electronic switching, the face of the switch looks the same whether it’s on or off. Otherwise, I’m very satisfied with this purchase. excellent product , it's really fast to connect like turn on and off , it's so clear app . The only think i would like to see change on the switch in the future is , when the light is off it should turn on indicator to Amber color ,then when the light is on it should turn on green . Because it confuse the other person, when the light is turn on no indicator light lid up and when the light is off then indicator light lid up. I hope is clear explain my concern. Read more
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I bought this so I could more easily control the porch light on the east side of my house. The only switch for the porch light is in the garage and I would have to cross both car bays from the door to the house to get to the switch. If you have a lot of stuff in your garage, you know that this can be inconvenient. I had one previously for the coach lights in the front of my house, so I already had the app on my phone anyway. It was an easy install for a DIY person that understands electrical wiring. If you don't I recommend finding someone who does to install it. Any decent handyman should be able to take care of it. Long story short, it was a quick install for me, easily paired with the app and Alexa. Now if I want to turn on the light is is super easy...You can also set up a schedule for on and off. The app supports different schedules for weekends and weekdays or you can also set the schedule for everyday. I am very happy with this...Not the cheapest solution, but i think Leviton is quality...and that makes it worth the extra few bucks to me. Read more
