Great for school!

JaeXMSeptember 24, 2022

I bought this for nursing school to have multiple windows open for productivity, and it’s perfect! I purchased it from Amazon, and it came in excellent condition. The picture quality is great, and the ergonomic arm is so smooth and flawless! I am using this with a 2021 14” MacBook Pro M1 Pro base model and connecting it with the included USB c cable. It charges my MacBook perfectly fine no matter how much schoolwork I do. I had some issues with the monitor not turning on after my MacBook was asleep, but I found out that if you press the space bar on your keyboard, it wakes up the monitor quickly instead of trying to wake it up by moving the mouse. I split the screen using the LG onscreen software control. If you find that the split screen option is not working (buffering or taking a long time to open), then that’s because you need to update the monitor software, and it will work perfectly fine. To do this, go to the LG website and enter the monitor number and download the new software update and it will fix it. I found out there have been issues with the monitor using over 100% CPU and energy on the MBPs. My MacBook was getting really hot, and sure enough, it was because of the high CPU and energy being used (110%). Still, I found that you can “exit” the onscreen software control (split screen) after you set up your windows correctly, and you’ll no longer be wasting super high CPU percentage or energy. I no longer have overheating issues at all after exiting out of the onscreen control. If you exit the split screen, it won’t affect your web pages at all, and they will stay the same size they were before. Using the LG onscreen control helps because it will size your pages perfectly instead of you having to size them yourself. And like I said, after you have them sized to where you want, exit out of the onscreen control, and your CPU and energy levels will go back to normal. This is an issue with all ultra wide LG monitors and not just this one but I actually found the fix. Some people have complained about the text being blurry, but this is normal when going to an IPS panel from the clear screen of the MBP. It takes a bit to get used to it, but your eyes will adjust perfectly. The text is great, and this is not a monitor issue but an issue with your eyes having to adjust to a different screen. The color was perfect out of the box, but using the RTS screen mode will give you the closest colors compared to the MBP. Read more

Great professional monitor

A. J.January 26, 2024

I bought this monitor for software engineering work. It sits on my desk that I made out of plywood. I use with a Macbook Pro, and in the evening I use Windows 10 to play Minecraft with it. Things I like: - The stand is minimal and sturdy and has good cable management. - It doesn't have a web cam. If I wanted a webcam, I would buy one. - The quality of the panel is superb. The curved monitor is superior than dual monitors, in my opinion. Things that could be better: - There is no need for this to have speakers. - Easier brightness adjustment (I have not tried the LG software, which I think makes this easier) Read more

Faulty Monitor. Terrible Support from LG. Amazon made it good though.

BviatorMay 14, 2023

I purchased this unit through an authorized Amazon retailer. The packaging was not damaged in shipping. Unpacked it and set it up in my home office. It worked great for about 24 hours, then a set of vertical lines began showing up on the right side of the screen. The next day the lines progressed even worse. Hooked up another PC to the monitor and the same lines appeared, even using different ports and cables. Okay, so I have a monitor with a faulty internal ribbon cable. I contacted Amazon and they first connected me with LG customer support. LG support created a case, and said one of their “authorized repair partners” would contact me within 7-10 business days either by phone or email and give me instructions on how to get it fixed. So they want me to wait 10 days before I even know if I will have to drive hours away to bring it somewhere or ship it off and possibly have to wait weeks or months for repairs? LG, I need this for work. I paid nearly $700 bucks. Replace it or send someone here to fix it ASAP. They would not do that or send me a replacement. Well, the LG “authorized repair center” never contacted me via email or phone during the 7-10 business days. I want to give kudos to Amazon though. I contacted them again and explained what was happening. They sent me a UPS return label and UPS picked it up the next day from my office. It took about a week or so to get the refund, but it went through. Thank you Amazon for stepping up. I went ahead and bought a similar model made by Dell. I am not going back to LG after that experience. I understand electronics fail, but LG needs to provide better support options when a brand new product is faulty. Read more

Great quality image, ergo mount is just a bit too short

l3bowsk1August 17, 2023

Love the image quality - like all LG IPS monitors I've tried, color accuracy and backlight consistency are top notch. The menu is the typical joystick-driven, easy to use, robust, set-it-forget-it experience that I'm used to from LG. Overall on the actual monitor, no notes, 5/5. But the ergonomic mount makes it worth the extra $$$ - while I have had standard VESA monitor arms before, the arm on this is easy to adjust, while the cable management eliminates clutter. My only issue is that the max height is 10" from the desk surface. It seems that this would be the minimum starting point for a true ergonomic arm, especially if you have a sit/stand desk - in a sitting position this puts my eyes centered in the top third of the screen, which is perfectly fine. But in a comfortable standing position with my arms in an ergonomic position on the desk, my eyes are almost dead-level with the top of the screen. Not only is this not great from an ergonomic perspective, but it changes the position of my webcam relative to my face, so I am often adjusting my camera to reframe the image. The max height really needs to be another 1-2" to account for sit-stand situations. Read more

Amazing Curved Monitor Perfect Size

Luis CanoSeptember 28, 2021

Amazing Monitor, I am in love with the ergo arm Works perfectly with my MacBook Pro 15. Awesome that it has the USB-C power and video connection. So you can only use 1 single cable for video and power your PC. Nice definition for a 21:9 aspect ratio, not 4K but pretty close. Anyway, the definition is better using HDMI because there are more configuration options available on the monitor, which are limited with the USC-C cable. Read more
