Works well!

I have had this a few weeks now and I’m very happy with it. The water taste good and it is a sturdy glass material material with a silicone cover at the bottom to help protect it. I will say I was initially worried when I first got it because it was taking FOREVER to filter. Now it’s a little faster, but I do expect it to be somewhat slower because it seems to be a good filter. I’m always having to fill it because it’s not a huge capacity, but I don’t mind because of the quality of the water it is just me though so for more than one person sharing it due to the capacity and a slow filtering. It might be hard for multiple people to use it. Read more

LIFESTRAW MADE MY DREAM PITCHER

Why did such a fantastic company ever make a plastic pitcher? I have suffered for years wishing for this and now here it is and I LOVE IT. Easy to use, perfect water filtering with 2 different approaches to cleaning water ––actually one of the few that filters out PFAS and forever chemicals in our water systems. Shame on our governments, State and Federal for that! The plastic ones I had leaked and cracked, but this glass one is of the highest quality and is one of my newest PRICED POSSESSIONS! THANK YOU FOR MY CLEAN AND GREAT TASTING WATER! Read more

Lovely and different GLASS pitcher

This LifeStraw 7 cup pitcher is super streamlined and attractive! The water tastes cleaner! But it does have several design quirks that I hope will be fixed in future models. This is just so nice looking and feels much higher quality than the competition - we have mostly used Brita pitchers in the past and this feels much nicer in terms of materials. I was looking for a glass pitcher without any plastic, and could not find something that was completely plastic free, but at least the body of this one is glass, with a silicone outer (removable) base. The double filter is pretty cool and they say it removes microplastics plus lead and bacteria, which I have not seen in other filters! Nice. I was really excited about that and I can actually taste a pretty noticeable difference in the taste of this water vs a Brita lead reducing filter pitcher. The main downfall of this lovely pitcher is how unbelievably slow the filter is...the first use and then following 3-4 uses were painfully slow, it took literally all day to filter one batch (the first batch) of water (not a whole pitcher full, just one small reservoir full). I was shocked. This speed has improved, but is still really slow compared to the Brita. Like really slow. Another design flaw is the location of the handle - I love that it is glass, but the handle is up really high on the body of the pitcher and when you have this half full or more, the handle is hard to hold and the pitcher is hard to tilt because of the weight. Speaking of which, the weight of this pitcher will be a major challenge for some because of the glass--when it is full, it weighs over 8 lbs. The last thing to know / not great feature is that the reservoir that you fill to filter the water is so small (I totally understand why, design-wise, it could not really be any bigger) that you have to fill it up SO, so many times to get a full pitcher. My goal in buying this was to have one pitcher to use for the day for myself so I would know how much water I am drinking in a day and then fill it up at night. Well I don't have that much time on my hands at night to refill the reservoir so many times, since it also takes so long to filter. I'm including a picture of the pitcher when it is pretty full and with this amount of water, the entire thing weighs 7 lbs 9 oz. Another picture to show the size difference. Overall I am still happy with this purchase! Just wish the filter were faster and reservoir were larger. Read more

Slow, heavy, filters through plastic

People are not joking when they say it takes 3 hours to fill the pitcher. I did prime the filter properly. And have filled it a few times. The main issue isn't even that the water comes out about as slow as about 1 drip every 2 seconds. The problem is you have to fill up the pre-filter water holder 7 times to fully fill the container. If you only had to fill it once or twice you could just put it in the fridge and let it do its job. But I have to leave this thing sitting on my counter for 3 hours so I remember to add water to it 7 frickin times before its full. And no, this is not an exaggeration. Amazon forces me to drive to UPS to return items which is 45 minutes from where I life so I am stuck with this terrible product. And if you are just trying to eliminate plastics from your kitchen, keep in mind the water sits inside a plastic holder and both the filters are housed in plastic which the water passes through. When full, it weighs as much as a large cast iron pan. If you aren't going to the gym regularly, this may not be the best option. Read more

Great buy for filter water for one person

Great water filter. Taste stays intact. That’s what I lie about lifestraw as a brand. Filter life is long and comes with all the instructions to help setup. No leakage or smell or even no lime sediments in the jar even after using it for 10days. Have been drinking 2 gallons each day consistently. FYI-please rinse and wash every part before even starting to drink from this jar. Read more
