The plushie itself is very cute, soft, colorful, and seems to be well sewn. However, I'm pretty sure this caterpillar is going to lose its antennas at some point as when you pull on them they tend to feel loose inside the the head. They haven't come out so far, but I'm currently using this toy for tummy time with a newborn. The term "musical" is a stretch as it plays "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" when you press firmly on the head of the caterpillar. You also have to press firmly to get the squeaker to squeak. Overall, it seems to be a safe toy for very young children. The mirror is very small and you'll have to position it for a baby if you're doing tummy time. The crinkle portion could be more crinkly. My 1.5 year old loved crinkle stuff when he was younger, but I don't think this would satisfy him the same way. The sound of the crinkle part is minimal. I like the bell it has in the plushie. Bought this as a baby toy for an actual human baby, but my dogs found it first and decided they needed it! Once I removed the unsafe bits for them (choking hazards), they were all about it. This has shockingly been one of their favorite toys lately. The crinkle sounds and textures keep them entertained for ages.
