These are better than expected. I was a bit hesitant to buy these due to the price, because let's face it, I'm cheap. But after using them, I am satisfied. Good quality and effective. I didn't get frustrated and throw things at the wall while trying to install them in a precise spot (that's always a plus in my book), since these decals let me reposition them without warping or deforming the decals before they set more permanently. For those curiously inclined, here was my particular application for these dims: to cover up the blindingly (is that a word?) bright led lights on my Schiit Tube Amplifier (um, in case you're wondering, that's not a typo...that's a real company, pronounced the way you think...). After a tough day at work (...and trust me I get those aplenty...) I like to unwind with my favorite recreational beverage while listening to music powered by the soothing sound of a glowing tube amp. I also enjoy the warm orange glow emanating from the tube with my room lighting dimmed low, but the relaxing sensation of its soothing glow was constantly shattered by a super bright white LED beneath it. This light is so bright it would actually keep me up at night if I tried listening to music while falling asleep! These decals were a perfect fit to cover up and mute the blinding LEDs, and the decal's finish matched my tube amp perfectly. Actually the LED is so bright I had to stack two decals on top of it to mute it sufficiently. They still do allow a faint glow of light to pass through them so you can still see when the LED is on or off. Ahhh, let's hear it for the little pleasures in life, people...now I can finally drift off into blissful sleep appreciating the smooth sound and soothing orange glow the tube produces in peace... These little stickers help dim the LED light on my air conditioner, my USB port, and my power strip. They don't cut the light entirely, but that's not what I want - I do want to know if these electronics are on, but I don't want them illuminating a dark bedroom. These are perfect for the job. I also like the way that the silver color blends into the electronics during the day and don't look blotchy, the way black ones would. I would buy again! Read more
I recently put an air purifier in our bedroom. Most of its lights automatically turn off in the dark, but a few indicators stay lit, and they are rather bright. When LightDims say these block 80-90% of light, they’re not lying. These things block out almost all of the light. One part of the sticker I used seems to have a line through it that further obscures the indicator light (see the lower left corner of my “after” picture, over the word “low.”) In a well-lit room, it’s now difficult to see the indicators. Does the job but it unpeels on a Linksys RTP300 router, cleaned the surface with alcohol, and took the stickers using tweezers to prevent finger oils and debris from affecting adhesive quality. Read more
First off, what I received in the mail was clearly an item that had been used and resold for full price. The stickers were bent and misplaced all over the sheet, as if someone had used the stickers already and haphazardly tried to put them back onto the sheet they come on, and the bag it came in looked like it has been crumpled up and thrown in the garbage. Secondly, the stickers won't stay flat. The edges lift up and don't seal out light all the way. I bet these things would be great if I had received a new item, but I clearly didn't so I don't know how well they're supposed to work. Read more
This is a wonderful product from a small family owned and run business that fits a very specific need. I ordered the silver dots to use on some silver audio equipment that has blazingly bright led lights and this product is exactly what I needed. It was also nice to have some communication from the maker of the product in the packaging that explained their back story and even included some other samples to try out. I love these! I don't know why every electronic device these days has to have some kind of light on it that's on all the time, but these Light Dims let me block those lights out and relax again.
