Fantastic vacuum cleaner. Read more
I received a Lindhaus vacuum as a wedding present (my wife and I had just moved into our house). When I saw it next to the gift table I was thinking whoopee, a vacuum. I didn't even use it right away, we had several weeks of getting stuff unpacked and moved around. When I finally got it out and used it, I was stunned. This thing is the best vacuum I've ever used. I haven't really done much vacuuming in my life but I've seen a whole string of them. Our 380 blows them all out of the water. Speaking of which, my wife's sister's super-duper-expensive-rainbow-cleans-everything vacuum is on par with the 380 (yes, I said it right, not the other way around) and they spent over twice the going rate of the Diamante. Expensive, defectively designed and very poor performance. But then the bags are also very expensive. This one is destined for the dump. Perhaps this vacuum is adequate if there is no need to use the hose, there is no pet hair (or anything else larger than dust) and virtually no dirt. In other words if you do not really need a good vacuum, this one might work but then you would still have a very expensive vacuum which performs poorly. The hose is designed with two 90 degree turns which clog frequnetly. This is a design defenct. I cannot complete thirty minutes of vacuuming without stopping and disassembling the machine to pull out anything larger than dust. I kept using the machine because it is so expensive. After not much use (I think I had gone through two boxes of bags) , the hose broke where it entered the handle. I have been using it with duct tape. I still have to disassemble it every thirty minutes or so to clean out the hose. Today, the hose separated from the machine at the other end. (I have almost completed one more box of bags). I do not see any way to fix it. The good news is that I can stop trying to use this defenctive product. I will take it to the dump on Monday and move on. This is the first product I have ever rated with a 1 (I have rated a consumer service with a 1) Read more
I am a Lindhaus fan. The vacuums run so quietly that you can have a conversation while vacuuming! I have previously owned a Lindhaus Healthcare Pro, which I bought when there was still an option for a 14" brush. (Now the Healthcare Pro only comes with a 12" brush.) When it came time to replace my Healthcare Pro, I thought I would upgrade to the Diamante 380. The main difference between the Diamante 300 and 380 is the size of the brush. The 300 has a 12" brush and the 380 has a 14" brush. The great thing about the 14" brush is that there is a little 'leg' that extends 2" beyond what the standard 12" brush would. This little 'leg' makes it very easy to get under kitchen cabinets. Not to mention the wider the brush, the less time it takes to vacuum, which could never be a bad thing! I was excited about trying out the Diamante 380. However, when I put the vacuum together (3-4 very easy steps) and gave it a try, I could tell immediately I was not going to like the machine. The one thing about the vacuum that is going to cause me return it: The 30 foot electrical cord wraps behind the hose for the attachments. To me, this makes the Diamante 380 not much fun to use. I do not always want to unwrap 30 foot of cord to vacuum. And, unless you unwrap all 30 foot of cord, it is awkward to use the on-board attachments. You cannot tell from the photos, but the cord wraps from the handle to the middle of the vacuum back. This is a design flaw on the part of Lindhaus, which does not make the Diamante 380 (and I assume 300) very user friendly. I tend to think I will order a new Healthcare Pro with the 12" brush. The attachment hose hooks onto the handle so that it is above the cord storage, making the Healthcare Pro much easier to use. I will miss that nice little 'leg', which helps me get under the kitchen cabinets, but I know that the wrestling match between the electrical cord and attachment hose will make me a miserable vacuuming mama!! I had owned a Kenmore Progressive for 12 years before it died. I actually went out to buy another until I felt the weight of the machine. (going upstairs not fun) So, found this at a local shop. LOVE that is not rattling your brains with noise as you are vacuuming, that is is easy to push, simple to run. You have the option of running the brush motor and wand separately or together. However, I HATE that I have to unwrap the entire cord to vacuum. if they would have just made a little flip down lever I would have gave it 5 stars. Read more
