The matte black wayfair frames are awesome!
I don't know if the bad reviews are about a different variation of these sunglasses but I got the classic wayfair "ray ban" style in matte black and I am in love with them. I have owned multiple of the $200 Ray Bans over the years and they always fall apart. Truly "they don't make em like they used to". I remember being a kid wearing Ray Bans in the 80s and 90s and they were dirt cheap and lasted forever. Even as a kid I lost them before I could ever break them. Now my last two made me write off Ray Ban. Just not worth that kind of money when the logo on the arm falls off after a few months or the arms becomes incredibly loose and even Sunglass Hut where you bought them can't fix them and Ray Ban offers virtually zero customer service what's the point of spending that much?? Well, with these sunglasses, I bought a pair as a spare option just in case because I can't go outside without sunglasses due to my eyes being so sensitive to sunlight. I was IMMEDIATELY impressed by the quality. The frames have this matte black color with a sort of soft texture to them. Not rubbery but almost feels soft like that. They feel incredibly nice when pressed against your head or rubbing on your ears. Never feeling uncomfortable no matter now long I wear them. I loved them so much I now own 5 pairs because even at 5 pairs they cost about as much as a pair of Knockarounds. I paid $40 for my Knockarounds that feel cheap and get loose quickly. I have had a pair of these for I believe about 3+ months now and they are still holding up fantastic. Initially I bought 2 pairs because I wanted a "car pair" but I have only been wearing one pair this whole time and they still look brand new and not a single scratch that I can see despite having dropped them many times. The matte texture does allow for fingerprints but not obvious fingerprints. More like some smudging but I have never noticed it because the matte black hides it well. You really gotta look for it unless maybe you have really oily skin then perhaps it can be an issue then. They're lightweight but not so light that they feel cheap. Somewhere in-between "heavy luxury" and "Walmart $5 rack light" yet they wear like my old $200 Ray Bans. These shades are proof that we should not always believe "you get what you pay for". If you disagree go buy a pair of Ray Bans instead and let's see what happens in 3 months if you drop them even once. The ones in my picture are the ones I've been exclusively wearing for 3 months and I am the kind of person who drops their glasses, puts them in their pocket/bag etc unprotected, wears them to the beach/pool (pool about 3 times a week over the last 3 months jumping in the water with them on too!) etc. These have held up incredibly well for the $8-$9 I paid for them. If they last 6 months to a year I'll be happy but at this rate I feel like they'll last a lot longer than that considering I can't even see signs of wear yet. The arms are still strong and stiff and the lens' look scratch-free. I love them! Couldn't ask for more from a $9 pair of shades! Hell, if these were $20-$30 I'd still prefer them over my $40 Knockarounds/Goodr/Blenders etc. They look/feel premium and hold up well! Read more
