I can’t believe I waited so long to try the Litter Genie XL+ Pail — it has made dealing with litter box cleanup so much easier and way less smelly! I have two cats, and before this, I was constantly taking small bags of waste out to the trash to avoid odors in the house. Now, I just scoop and drop it right into the Litter Genie, and it locks away the smell perfectly. The XL+ size is fantastic. I can go several days without having to empty it, even with two cats, which is a huge convenience. The jumbo refill bag included lasts a long time and is easy to replace. The pail itself is compact and fits right next to the litter box without taking up too much space. Another bonus: it’s super easy to use. The pull-and-lock system keeps odors sealed in, and the entire process of scooping and disposing is quick and hygienic. Cleaning out the pail is also very simple. If you’re a cat owner tired of constant trips to the trash can and lingering litter odors, I highly recommend the Litter Genie XL+. It’s a small investment that makes a big difference in keeping your home fresh and clean! Read more

I bought this for a friend, so I will share their ideas about it. With two cats, this still performed admirably and made a disgusting chore much easier and tolerable. It's a great concept, really decreases any smell if emptied as specified, and is worth the money unless you just love cleaning out litter boxes. I think it was worth my money since it makes their life so much easier. Read more

I replaced a smaller one. This one is so much easier to use and I'm not having to empty after 3 days. Lasts at least a week now. Keeps the smells at bay. Read more

I’ve been using the Litter Genie XL+ Pail for a few weeks now, and it does a good job of controlling odors and making litter disposal more convenient. However, there’s a frustrating issue with the locker mechanism. Pros: ✔ Effective Odor Control – The pail does a great job sealing in odors, keeping my home smelling fresh. ✔ Easy to Use – The one-handed operation makes disposal quick and easy. ✔ Large Capacity – The XL+ size is perfect for a multi-cat household, as I don’t have to empty it as often. ✔ Includes Jumbo Refill – The included refill bag lasts a decent amount of time. Cons: ➖ Locker Always Comes Loose – The locker mechanism that holds the lid closed is very flimsy and constantly comes loose, which is quite annoying. ➖ Refills Are Expensive – While the pail is useful, the cost of replacement bags can add up quickly. Final Thoughts: While the odor control and ease of use make this system great, the locker issue is a major inconvenience. If that can be fixed, it would be a much more reliable product. I’m on the fence about recommending it because of this flaw. Read more

I have had the petmate litter locker, different versions of the litter genie and the litter champ and this is by far the best. The petmate I have had many moons ago and you had to spin the wheel to lock the litter after each scoop which really didn’t work so well. Then I got the smaller litter genie which works but in order to change out the bags you had to put your hand on the same place where you put the litter getting litter residue on your hands. The litter champ was good in the fact you didn’t have to use your hands at all. It has a foot pedal that you use to push the door open and the scoop pushes down a lever and you drop the litter in. Only downfall there is when it opens the smell rolls out. With this bigger litter genie the lid stays up a lot better than my older version, you can keep the slide in place until you are done scooping and then can drop it all at once keeping the stink down and when you change the bag you flip the lid up and cut the bag so there is no touching the nasty litter residue. The downfall of this design I would say is when you flip the lid and take out the bag it is top heavy and wants to fall over when you are trying to tie the bag off to start a new one. But overall I really love this new design. Read more

This is crazy easy to set up. Even easier to use! When you open the top to dump the litter in, there is a partition about 5 inches down. Scoop and dump the litter, close the top, and pull the tab at the front of the box to release everything into the bottom. When you close the partition - the back of the container holds on to the bag, so no odor escapes. It's rather ingenious! To change the bag there is a cutting tool built into the back of the compartment. Simply cut away and tie off the full bag, then tie off the bottom of the new bag. Easy peasy! THRILLED with this so far! I bought 2 - one for my cats litter, and one for elderly parent's incontinence items. Looking forward to not having odor in my home. Read more

Ngl I’m kind of an idiot so it took me a solid minute to understand the bag situation.. but I got it. This contraption holds smell tight and doesn’t release if you empty it AT LEAST once a week. If you take longer, what are you doing?! Clean that dang litter box. Anywho, I do got 3 cats and this does the job perfectly. it’s easy to clean but I do wish it has more durability.. you could smash this thing on its side QUICK if you fell on it. I do worry about smell in the future considering plastic holds onto bacteria despite washing it. Read more
