I'm going to give 5 stars for now, but I may be back. Not being from Missouri, you still need to "show me". So far the detergent works well but I've yet to test under difficult circumstances. There's just 2 of us and we don't load the machine to the hilt. We do have hard water but not as bad as elsewhere. 2 scoops are recommended for very hard water or super full loads, but we've only used one scoop for everything. The packaging is less than the tubs that pods come in. There may be paper as part of the envelope but it's layered with a foil substance and a plastic-ky film that keeps the detergent fresh and dry. It's definitely a nice effort towards minimizing the trash waste. The integral "zipper" at the top of the bag works well and seals tight. I'm very satisfied with the cleaning and lack of fragrance. The dishes are spot free, but we have a rinse aid already in the machine. At least the LMPJ works with the rinse aid - there is zero residue and everything squeaks clean. As far as price goes, it's a good value but not the best price out there. I do see some cheap powders for only 15 cents a load, whereas the LMJP is at 28 cents (12/25). The top brand pods are close to 40 cents and the house brand at the shopping club is just under 24 cents. We have been using that house brand for a couple years now with consistent success. I got this because I wanted a more natural dish cleaner for my dishwasher, and this one seems to be made of mostly natural ingredients. I like that this cleaner is fragrance free, but unfortunately, it is far from being odor free. This stuff does have a strong and unpleasant smell that made me sneeze when I first used it. I now keep it in a sealed container so it doesn't bother my allergies or smell up my house. This cleaner does work well, and my glassware dries with clarity, so I may keep using it in the future, but I'm taking off 1 star because of the strong and unpleasant smell. The only thing I didn't like, besides the smell, is the price. This cleaner is kind of expensive, but then most natural cleaners are more expensive than normal, so this is to be expected I suppose. The LMJP dishwasher detergent comes in an easy-to-open resealable bag. The powder is white in color, soft to the touch, has little to no smell, and comes with a cute little wooden scoop. I normally rinse and wipe off any stuck-on food debris on my plates and silverware before putting them in the dishwasher. However, to test out the claims of this dishwasher detergent, I didn't do that for two days. When it was time to run the dishwasher, there was dried on spaghetti sauce, eggs, yogurt and other grime on the plates, bowls and silverware. The directions state to use one scoop per load, but to use two scoops for very hard water or tough residue. Since I did not "pre-wash" the dishes, I used two scoops, which was still less powder than I usually use. When the dishes were done, I was amazed that all the dishes and silverware were spotless and there was no powder residue in the detergent reservoir or on the dishes. It even removed the two-day old coffee stains from the cups. This dishwasher detergent is earth-friendly and contains no harsh chemicals, fragrances or dyes. It actually removes stuck-on food and grime, and I am now saving time and water since I don't have to pre-wash the dishes.
