I received this Nano Glass Nail File from Lobodt as part of a promotion. Here is what I found: 1. The file came with no instructions whatsoever. Given that I think most consumers are going to be new to the concept of nano glass, I think some instructions are important. So, I went back to the product listing to see what information was there. 2. First photo was a picture of the file and storage sleeve that I received. It matched. Ok. 3. Second photo shows the before and after of the polishing capabilities, and the shaping and smoothing capabilities of the file. 4. Third photo is a problem for me. The actual written description of the file is 3.5 x 0.51. That is the size of the file that I received. Not a problem until you look at the size of the file in the third photo. The bottom photo looks comparable to what I received. If you look at the top photo and the middle photo, the item depicted there is obviously much larger than what you get with this purchase. My problem is that it seems somewhat misleading. Further down in the photos, it clearly shows the measurements of the actual file, I just wish the seller did not include the other photos of such a long file. 5. Fourth photo was where they listed some basic instructions. 6. I followed those instructions. I did not get that viscous, harsh filing that you typically see with nail files. It was silent, but you could see the nail dust coming off the nail, so I could tell that it was working. It seemed like it was filing off little bits at a time. It is like using an extra, extra, extra fine grit to file your nails with. 7. Because of the thickness of the file, I felt like I had a little bit of difficulty maneuvering the file down the sides of my nails and working around the corners. 8. When I used the file to polish, it did produce a shockingly shiny surface. The only problem with that was that it was patchy. Instead of producing a smooth, flat, shiny solid surface, all over, it was like it produced shiny splotches or patches. That could be entirely due to my own nails. The spots it did produce were almost glass or mirror like in their shininess. That part was pretty impressive. It made the surface of my nail feel super duper smooth. 9. Because the file is as thick as it is and there is no flexibility, I had difficulty maneuvering it around the surface of my nail. Again, that could just be my nails and not anyone else’s. 10. The file was easy to clean and store and is definitely compact enough to keep in your purse or pocket. I do not want to be negative about this file because I think for some people it is going to work fabulously. I do not have great nail beds, so I want you to keep that in mind for the few issues I had with this file. I think my suggestion to the manufacturer, and I do not know if they can even do this, would be to make this a little bit thinner and send some instructions. I picture this being easier on your nails than harsh, coarse nail files, and if you can get it to work across the entire surface of your nail, the polish effect would be amazing. I could see myself buying another one of these, especially if it came in different size Read more

Verdict: I really love this file and I highly recommend it! If you’ve never tried the cut/etched glass nail files, be prepared to be amazed at how shiny your nails get! My nails look like glass after I use this file. I’m serious. They’re that shiny. I love it. I think it might help seal the edges of my nails, too, but I don’t know about that. This is the kind that where the glass has been cut/etched. It works really well. It smooths out the edge of my nail and makes it shiny like glass :) It does take longer the smooth your nail than a rougher one. I think this is for finishing. It makes my nail really shiny when I use it on the top, too. It looks like I have a top coat on! The holder is neat, too. It fits nicely and I don’t have any problems with it. The only con would be that it’s a bit thick. It’s hard to get it under like my toenails. Read more

This nail file is able to file nails smooth and buff them to a high gloss. I have no issues with this product when using it as a file. When I try to buff my nails, I have found two problems. First, it can take me several minutes per nail to buff them, and it's a lot harder to do with my nondominant hand. It removes the keratin of the nail only very slowly so if your nails have any ridges, it will take even longer to buff them. My second issue is that, since it's glass and not a softer material, it's not quite as easy to use as it could be. I find it almost impossible to buff the nails up to the cuticle without cutting into the it. If I try to buff a little ways out from the cuticle, I tend to end up making scratches on the nail with the edge of the glass. Good points * It works really well to put a high shine on nails. * Also works well to make nail edges very smooth. Not-so-good points *Takes a couple of minutes per nail, give or take. * Nail dust starts to clog up the file and should be cleaned off every nail or so. * The glass is rather unforgiving when you're trying to buff or file the nail right next to your skin. It can be done, but I end up filing my skin as well. If I try to keep the file away from my skin, I have a problem with the edge of the file scratching my nails. Overall, I'm giving Lobodt's glass nail file 4 stars. It does a lovely job filing or buffing most of a nail to a high shine. Because it's slow (which can be good if you're looking for a very smooth surface or don't want to take much nail off) and because there are some parts of the nail that it can't feasibly polish, I'm taking off one star. __Arrived broken; Tiny glass shards in the leather case it came with emerged with the part you see (the bottom of file is still in the "leather" sheath). The length of this (based on the case) is quite short--probably best for carrying (e.g. not on a vanity), but if it breaks on its way to me, what does that say about what it would be like carried in a purse? __I've reported the item, and will update this review if the replacement somehow proves this to be a viable item. Otherwise, this is not viable as a purse worth nail file. UPDATE: Amazon replaced the broken file. The new one arrived in one piece. There is resistance on one side, very smooth to the skin, but it does polish the nails. The business part is quite short (handle is roughly half the length of this already purse size file. Works for smoothing a nail that just felt a bit rough rather than filing a nail (like after a nail was ripped). Just okay for me. Read more
