This is probably the 5th mouse of this model I've bought over the years, and while they've modified it slightly a few times, the ergonomics and overall functionality of this model makes it the perfect mouse for me. I haven't bought so many because the old ones break down, but I put 12-14 hours per day of use into them, and the little teflon/plastic skids on the bottom wear down over time. I'm happy to purchase new ones, and now I have a few at home and one at work, and keep the old ones as a just-in-case. Ergonomically, I don't have huge hands, and with some bigger mice it seems like I have to shift my whole arm. This is small enough to where I can flick my wrist alone and quickly navigate everything. Yet, it's not "laptop mouse" small, and has plenty of features. I love the button that allows you to shift the mouse wheel between "clicky" or freewheeling - there are different times I may need one over the other. The amount of buttons is perfect. Left/right/middle press, wheel shifts left and right, a forward/back thumb button. Older models have the thumb downward press button you can define, but I never did use it for much so I'm not disappointed to lose it. Batteries in these things last forever, the laser tracks very well on anything that's not shiny, and the bottom skids allow smooth movement. Never had any issues with the unifying receiver, it's thin enough to just keep in a laptop even when in a bag, and it works well with my logitech keyboards too. The latest model is a bit different in terms of plastic - it feels much lighter overall, and the plastic seems thinner. I'm not sure if this will be a positive change or not, but it feels plenty sturdy to me. Not sure what else to cover here. For all my needs it works perfectly. I don't think it qualifies as a high-precision gaming mouse (you shouldn't be looking in wireless mice for that anyway), but for literally everything else it's great. Here's hoping they keep this model around for years to come. Read more

This is a fantastic mouse. I first used the wired model at my last firm. Some associate left it when he left the firm and I inherited it. I was immediately drawn to the infinity scroll feature as I use large spreadsheet with lots of relevant information and using that scroll feature is far more convenient than Page Up/Down or jumping around with the scroll bar in the window. When I left that firm, I was in the market to purchase my own and I went with the wireless version, the M705. Again, the infinity scroll is super convenient. The programmable buttons on the side of the mouse are great too! One thing I haven't mentioned is how well this fits in my hand. It's a good size mouse but perfect for the palm. It feels natural. It glides on all desktops. I have only run into problems with the mouse not working well on granite, glass, and oddly - paper. Not sure what it is about paper, maybe the rulings on it. Anyways, use on desks and tables since that is where I do most of my work is just fine. No complaints. The mouse boasts a 3-year battery life. I cannot attest to that as of yet, but I purchased my first M705 2 years ago and I still have the same batteries in it. The on/off switch is conveniently located on the bottom so when packing up, its easy to turn it off. The switch is set into the body of the mouse as not to easily turn on when packed away. I don't know how much more life I will get out of it but I bet I can get it to 2 1/2 years on the same batteries. You just have to make sure you turn it off at the end of your work day. I don't think its 3-years of continually staying in the on position. And that gets me to why I purchased a second M705. Well, my wife wanted a better mouse and she had used mine at home for some MBA work and mentioned that she wished she had a nice mouse, especially at her work since her colleagues have nicer devices. So I purchased this one for her. The only gripe I have with the one she got is that the infinity scroll button sticks a little bit. She has used it for a little over a month and have heard no complaints from her so far, so it must be working well for her. I have also recommended this device to all my work colleagues as well if they are in the market and heavy mouse users. We are not engineers or graphical designers or gamers, we need a mouse for spreadsheets and other financial reports, and this mouse is perfect. I 100% recommend it. Read more

I bought this somewhat on a whim. I had a wired Logitech mouse and the wire did occasionally get in the way, but otherwise I loved the ergonomics of my wired mouse. But I'd just bought and loved a new logitech wireless keyboard so decided to give their mouse a try. Wow, what a great mouse! The shape of the mouse was a little different than my old one, but still a very nice ergonomic feel - very comfortable to use. And with a reportedly 3 year battery life (I've only had mine for about a month), who needs to bother about recharging. And if you do happen to not use it for an extended time - say a vacation, there is a switch on the bottom to completely shut it off. But what really knocked me out was all the new things it was capable of than my old mouse - and very, very useful ones! For example, if you use spreadsheets a lot, like I do, the mouse wheel rocks slightly to the left and right to allow you to scroll in that direction as well as up and down. This alone make it worth the money to me. There is also a "free wheeling" switch just below the mouse scrolling wheel that allows you to "spin" the wheel to scroll very, very quickly. Again this could be a big help with long Word documents or spreadsheets or even webpages. Further, like the logitech keyboard, it has wonderful function that let's you see all open pages simultaneously in miniature versions tiled on the desktop. Just look at the page you want, click it, and that page opens up. This is especially useful if you run, say, virtual XP, on a Windows 7 machine. With this, just a squeeze of the side of the mouse and you open not only the virtual files, but the normal Windows 7 files as well. With this it's simple to switch back and forth from the virtual to the normal environment without having to hibernate the virtual machine. This mouse is well worth the price! Read more
