BOTTOM LINE: Anyone who can adapt to new technology quickly and has a need for cursor control away from a desk will love this mouse. LENGTH OF USE: About 2 months. TECH LEVEL: Professional programmer and designer, consultant, trainer I always investigate my purchases extensively and I was a bit concerned about the re-centering problems after reading some negative reviews. A couple reviews hinted that the problem was a misunderstanding on the part of other reviewers, so I decided to give this mouse a shot. I'm glad I did! This mouse works flawlessly. While the movement is very smooth, it will likely take a bit of practice before you develop the muscle control to make the fine movements required to click what you want every time. It took me a couple of days. The re-centering problem other users have reported is entirely a result of their misunderstanding. The device is not supposed to be tethered to the direction of the screen, in fact, that's the greatest thing about this mouse. I can point the mouse at the floor, to the side, or behind me and it works just as well. As with a normal mouse, when the cursor is dragged off the screen, the cursor stays at the edge no matter how far the mouse actually tells it to go. This means that reorienting the mouse is instantaneous. Just as fast and easy as doing so with a regular mouse. I even tried gaming with the air mouse and, while I didn't have the coordination to do well on a first person shooter, with time, I might prefer this method of control even for gaming. Right now I use the air mouse for media control and presentations. My presentations include videos, websites, PowerPoints, and other applications like mind mapping software. This mouse performs flawlessly as a presentation remote that gives you the freedom to actually use a mouse anywhere in the room whenever needed. I've used this mouse to teach Photoshop classes on the screen while working with students in the back. Freezing the mouse is easy - just press the back button for a couple of seconds and the cursor freezes. The other controls allow you to step back and forth through slides, play and pause media, and change the volume, even while the cursor is frozen. BOTTOM LINE: Anyone who can adapt to new technology quickly and has a need for cursor control away from a desk will love this mouse. Read more

The plus sides: Fast scrolling (like the MX Revolution), decent tabletop accuracy. The minus sides: Always deviates to the right hand side, trying to center the pointer is almost impossible. If you want to be waving your hands wildly in the air to try to get the pointer on the place you want to be this mouse is for you. 1st generation air technology obviously has a long way to go. I have 2 MX Revolution mice and they are hands down the best wireless mice yet. No picking up the mice to reset the laser. I have an MX1000 and an MX900. They are both finicky (but not bad considering their age). Not the MX Revolution. Buy that one instead. Unless of course you ABSLOUTELY need air control, and even then the Revolution moused on your pants does a better job. Ergonomics are as bad...5 buttons on the top that work, but provide no real useful function, espcially how difficult the pointer is to control. Plastic body is worse quality than expected, especially for the price. It needs it's own remote sensor, the 2 that I have (1 for the DiNovo keyboard, 1 for the MX Revolution mouse), won't work... so that's 3 USB ports required, and trust me, they don't have an all in one solution...no thanks. The charging unit is different from all the other previously made Logitech mice and you will need to have 2 docking stations if you have another Logitech mouse to be able to charge it...another pain. Overall rating: Unacceptable. Sent back for credit. Read more

The mouse works OK as a desktop mouse. There are definitely better ones on the market. Where it wants to shine is as a remote control replacement, or 'in air' mouse for presentations. While drawing on a powerpoint is decent, the functionality of the mouse is not tied in close enough with PPT to make the transition from writing to moving around in slides seemless. The most annoying feature is that when you scroll up or down; or just use the touch slider it clicks quite loudly. The clicking is annoying, the mouse seems to have its own speaker; and according to logitech - you cannot disable this sound. I found myself so annoyed with this sound, I went back to the Microsoft presenter mouse. Read more

It works like it's supposed to but I guess I expected more. It's awesome on the desk, it's good in the air, it's a bit tough in the pocket. I wish it was easier to scroll right and left with it. Had to change a couple settings in order to do so but it's not a bad mouse. It is, however, a piece of crap for 1st person shooter games! I don't think too many gamers are looking at this though. If you want an air mouse, this works great. It's accurate in the air and on the desk. I just kind of wish I hadn't paid so much for it. At the same time, I'm not looking to get rid of it. Read more
