- Pralines and Cream flavoring adds that rich caramel taste and smell to your baking. This brown sugary caramel goodness will enhance any baked dessert. It is your secret to making your food fabulous. SSAppropriate for use in chocolates and coatings. If you experience some thickening, add liquified coconut oil, or cocoa butter to thin/smooth (typical use is ¼ to ½ teaspoon per pound).
- A little goes a long way! LorAnn’s super strength flavors are three to four times the strength of typical baking extracts.
- A Dram is a small bottle that is the perfect size for 1 batch of homemade Hard Tack Candy (.125 fl oz approximately 1 teaspoon) Love the flavor and need a larger size? Most of the 100+ Super Strength flavors are availble in larger sizes. 1 ounce bottle contains approximately 6 teaspoons. -- 4 ounce bottle contains approximately 24 teaspoons -- 16 ounce and gallon are also available.
- Typical uses: hard candy, general candy making, cakes, cookies, frosting, ice cream and a wide variety of other baking and confectionery applications. Note: When substituting super strength flavors for extracts, use ¼ to ½ teaspoon for 1 teaspoon of extract.

Candy flavoring... for weight loss!

I am maintaining a weight loss and finding it harder and harder as the years go by. What worked for years no longer works, so I'm having to get creative. For years, I've stopped at a local candy supply shop to get gifts for a friend. Finally, I trolled the shelf of LorAnn flavorings with myself in mind. Using the Pralines & Cream flavoring, I've cut down on the sugar and milk (well... half n half, to be honest) I use in my coffee. Just one drop infuses my mug of coffee without adding sugar or fat. When I bake for school or family functions, I use a single drop of the LorAnn brandy flavor to cut the sweetness of vanilla frosting. (Not a weight loss tip!) Read more

This wasn't my favorite flavoring. I used it to make the Caramel Pecan Cheesecake from King Arthur Flour's website, and I made half of the cheesecake without the flavoring to compare them. I preferred without the flavoring; I think that I'm just really sensitive to artificial flavors and tend to prefer without them once I can pick up on them. [By the way, the cheesecake was wonderful, especially when covered with more caramel on top!] Despite not preferring it myself, I'd actually still recommend this flavoring for most people, because the reviews for the cheesecake at King Arthur Flour's website had a bunch of people who really liked this flavoring in the cheesecake, and no one else who shared my opinion. The flavoring itself has 22 reviews at KAF and an average of 5 stars!!! Also, the size that Amazon sells is AWESOME. I love being able to buy a dram instead of the whole 1 ounce bottle from KAF. I've got another 1oz bottle of one of their flavors that I've used about 16 times and still have some left, and personally I don't want that much of a flavor until I know I like it. The dram is perfect. Also, if you're looking for recipes to use with the LorAnn Flavoring oils, check out KAF and see if they're selling that flavor, because they often have accompanying recipes. For example, to use this Pralines & Cream flavoring, they have great-looking recipes for Praline French Toast, Christmas In Vermont Bread, German Chocolate Cake Flavoring, German Chocolate Mini Cakes, Chocolate Chunk Pecan Pie, and the cheesecake I made. LorAnn's website also has one recipe for this flavoring: White Chocolate Maple Cookies. So if you like this flavoring as much as most people do, there are plenty of great recipes out there to start baking :) Read more
